麻豆原创 competence frameworks
麻豆原创 competence frameworks present structured, evidence-based competences that enable practitioners, supervisors, employers and commissioners to understand the relevant skills, knowledge and professional attributes that counsellors and psychotherapists use to work safely and effectively in post-qualification specialist practice with specific presenting problem areas, therapeutic modalities, or client populations. Competence framework development is led by the Professional Standards Development Facilitator (PSDF) supported by a 麻豆原创 Core Group. The Core Group comprises the Head of Professional Standards (HoPS) and/or Deputy Head of Professional Standards; the Competence Development Lead (CDL); the Professional Standards Operations Manager; a 麻豆原创 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and an External Consultant (EC).
麻豆原创 is looking for a self-employed External Consultant to assist our Core Group to develop a competence framework for counselling adults affected by adoption. This document provides the role description, person specification and detail of how to apply for this opportunity.
Time commitment
Approximately 20 days over the lifetime of the project (18 to 24 months) are required to fulfil the EC鈥檚 activities and expectations. The bulk of the required work (approximately 15 days) is likely to take place within the first 8 to 12 months of the project.听
Skills and abilities
You should:听
- hold specialist knowledge, skills and experience in counselling adults affected by adoption. Is familiar with contemporary research relating to the field of practice
- hold up-to-date knowledge of legislation and policy surrounding counselling adults affected by adoption
- have experience in conducting systematic or scoping literature reviews, ideally to PRISMA guidelines
- have experience in using systematic review software such as Rayyan or Covidence
- have experience in using reference management software such as Zotero or Mendeley
- have experience in conducting large-scale literature searches used databases including EBSCO, PsycInfo and other common academic databases
- have experience in qualitative data extraction and synthesis
- have experience in using collaborative online workspaces such as Sharepoint
- have IT equipment and broadband to enable reliable attendance at online meetings
- have advanced academic writing, referencing and editing skills, including critical appraisal and analysis, and demonstrating attention to detail and accuracy in research activity
- exhibit confidence in acting as a consultant; can communicate and challenge effectively and respectfully within a group setting
- have excellent planning and organisational skills; consistently demonstrates initiative to organise and prioritise work to agreed deadlines
- understand and promote principles of equality, diversity and inclusion to ensure framework is appropriate for intended audiences
- adhere to the seven Nolan principles of public office: selflessness, integrity, objectivity, accountability, openness, honesty and leadership. This includes a commitment to collaborative working and having the ability to look beyond own organisational interests
Activities and expectations to carry out the role
You'll need to:
- review and comment on feasibility and relevance of pre-drafted initial project protocol. Discuss purpose and parameters of initial literature review and report
- review the initial shortlist for ERG members drafted by the PSDF. Advise on number of ERG members required, and suggest additional or alternative members
- collaborate with Senior Research Fellow on reviewing PSDF鈥檚 initial research screening summary report, to help refine search terms and research strategy. Collaborate on presenting the findings to the ERG and discuss further refinements to searches, key terms and inclusion/exclusion criteria
- collaborate on producing a scoping review, including full text review, data extraction, data coding and providing advice around thematic synthesis of findings
- perform additional searches and data extraction following ERG advice
- review preliminary and advanced draft competence maps
- support with incorporating results of peer reviews if needed
- contribute to final editing of competence framework, user guide and methodology documents
To effectively complete these steps, the EC is expected to attend online meetings with the PSDF, Core Group and ERG as required. They're also expected to engage in work between meetings and to complete agreed actions to deadline, in close consultation with the PSDF.听
Remuneration
A fixed fee is paid at 拢500 per day (working day is seven hours and 15 minutes). Meetings are held online, but in the event of any in-person meeting, the role holder will be able to claim expenses in line with 麻豆原创's expenses policy.
