Exploring the therapist’s perception of professional competences when working in the native language (L1) and second language (L2)
Calling out for PARTICIPANTS
Are you a qualified counsellor who practises in two languages?
If so, would you be interested in taking part in a research project exploring
the therapist’s perception of professional competences when working in the native language (L1) and second language (L2)?
My name is Tina Sapanidis. I am a qualified person-centred counsellor studying for a BSc Hons in Counselling at Guildford College. As a bilingual therapist (French and English), I am interested in researching the impact of languages in therapy, with a particular emphasis on the bilingual therapists’ perceived competences and subjective experience when switching between languages.
I am looking for participants who answer the following criteria:
• currently conduct sessions in two languages
• qualified counsellors who undertook a Humanistic training course in English
• participants need to have been qualified for a minimum of three years working with adults and/or children
• first language is not limited to French
The interview will take place online, last 60 minutes and include a debrief at the end. The data you submit will be kept confidential.
The study has been given ethical approval by Middlesex University.
Please get in touch if you would like to learn more about the study and/or would like to take part.
Thank you,
Tina Sapanidis
