About me and my therapy practice
With 20 years of experience as a psychotherapist, I am deeply passionate about the transformative power of therapy. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing first hand how healing and personal growth can change lives—an insight that fuels my work every day.
My approach is grounded in a deep sense of curiosity and a genuine desire to understand your unique experience. I bring a calm, thoughtful presence to each session, creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and supported. I’m not in a rush—therapy is a journey, and I’m committed to walking beside you at your pace.
In addition to my professional expertise, I’ve had the benefit of extensive therapy myself, which has shaped my empathetic, non-judgmental approach. My goal is to create a collaborative environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and challenges, knowing that we’ll work together to navigate them.
I’m tenacious in my belief that change is possible and that therapy can be a powerful tool for growth. Whether you’re facing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or simply looking to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, I’m here to help guide you on your path.
I offer both long-term psychotherapy and medium term counselling. Sometimes it’s hard to know which is the best fit for you and this is something that we can discuss in our initial appointment.
I offer a bespoke service to students as I know that affordability for good quality counselling can be an issue. I offer 20 sessions for £45 per session. I have over ten years of experience working in a student counselling service.
I am an accredited member of the Â鶹Դ´ and work within their ethical framework. I am a qualified counselling supervisor and I hold an MSc in Counselling Studies.
Practice description
I run my private practice from a comfortable room in the West End of Edinburgh, where you will feel safe and secure and where we will be free from interruption.
My therapy room is on the second floor; if you have restricted mobility, please let me know and we can discuss the option of telephone counselling.
My therapy room is within walking distance of public transport links.
My first session
If you think I can help, the first step is to get in touch. Please provide a brief summary of why you're looking for counselling or psychotherapy.
I will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a free 20 minute telephone conversation.
If we decide to work together, we will arrange a regular time and day to meet for weekly sessions. This will be your allocated time-slot every week.
At that stage I will ask you to fill in your contact details and an emergency contact, and I will send some additional important information relating to procedures.
I look forward to hearing from you.
