Availability

Daytime and evening appointments available, from 9 am up until 10 pm on weekdays. No availability at weekends.

Most of the sessions are conducted online via FaceTime, Zoom or by telephone, depending on what the client prefers. In addition to remote counselling,

I also offer a very few limited spaces for therapy in person indoors and outdoors in nature, rather than in an enclosed space. Walk and Talk Therapy takes place close to my clinical practice indoors, in Little Venice / Westbourne Green, close to Royal Oak Underground Station, W2 6ET.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and Clinical Supervisor and Accredited/Registered member of Â鶹ԭ´´ (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and Prof/Accred member of NCPS (National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society).

I have over 15 years' counselling/psychotherapy experience, an educational background and experience of working with individuals, couples and groups.

I am also a BUPA Recognised and Fee Assured Mental Health and Well-being Practitioner and registered as a Health Provider with Nuffield Health, Aviva, AXA PPP and Vitality.

I have worked in a group supervision setting, both as a participant and facilitator, for a number of years. I attend supervision both for my counselling and supervision work in order to ensure the best outcomes for my clients and supervisees and subscribe to the Â鶹ԭ´´ Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions.

I am also a member of EMDR Association UK.

Practice description

I have trained Integratively, which means that I practise different counselling models: Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR), Gestalt, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Transactional Analysis and Existential Therapy.

I have experience in short- as well as long-term work. My work experience includes working with minority, multicultural, neurodiverse and LGBTQ+ clients and the provision of Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity (GSRD) affirmative therapy, which constitutes one of my special areas of expertise.

I have worked across a range of presentations and intersectional characteristics. My specialisms include working with marginalised and historically repressed communities, promoting social justice and tackling minority stress.

My first session

FREE* First Session and its Rationale:

Finding the right therapist can be a challenge at the best of times. I believe that free consultations are ethically a good practice because they are a great way to let potential clients meet me and determine if we are a good fit.

A wealth of research points out that the therapeutic relationship itself is the most crucial factor for positive therapeutic outcomes. So anything we can do to ensure a good match is beneficial. The information gained from a website or directory profile isn’t enough to get the measure of how that relationship may pan out.

If offering a free first session were a universal practice, it would help clients find the right therapist and arguably increase the probability of better outcomes. Such a policy may also help therapists find clients that are a good fit for them.

By offering a free session, I show potential clients who I am and how I work. I believe that by removing the financial obstacle I increase the accessibility and we can both assess whether there is a match without feeling resentment or obligation.
