About me and my therapy practice
Confidential Support for Adults and Young People (13+)
My name is Lara. I work with people feeling overwhelmed and stuck. I help them manage difficult feelings and explore ways forward. Together, we create a safe space where they recover and find the confidence to achieve their goals.
Specialising in recovery from trauma and childhood issues, I often work with individuals feeling trapped in unfulfilling situations and people-pleasing. I help them let go of others’ expectations and live as the person they would like to be.
Person-Centred Therapy
I know that it is hard sharing troubling memories or events, but also with the right support, people can overcome the most challenging of pasts and circumstances. In a private setting, I offer a safe space to discuss whatever you wish without pressure. No judgements, hurrying you, or asking probing questions. Though I may offer new perspectives and possibilities, we work together at your pace towards the changes that you are looking for.
I bring commitment and a sense of humour to my work. Clients often describe me as down-to-earth and accepting. I strive to create an inclusive environment for all identities.
Professional background
As a qualified counsellor and former social worker with 30+ years of professional experience, I have supported a diverse range of clients through wide-ranging issues.
Alongside private practice, my experience includes counselling in a male prison, sexual abuse and domestic violence recovery services, therapy in mainstream and specialist (SEMH) education, online mental health support, bereavement support, helpline services, and social work in child protection and residential care.
Practice description
I have undertaken extensive training beyond my primary qualifications through ongoing short courses and workshops. I am a Clinical Supervisor (I oversee the practice of other therapists), and I am currently training as an ADHD Clinical Services Provider.
Core Qualifications
- BA Hons Community Studies (Social Sciences)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work
- Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
- Certificate in Online & Telephone Counselling
- Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision
Based in Warrington, Cheshire, but serving the UK.
I deliver counselling online (via Zoom and phone) UK-wide and in person for clients from across the North West, including Grappenhall, Stockton Heath, and Lymm. I also offer walk-and-talk therapy. Instead of sitting face-to-face, we walk side-by-side outdoors, exploring issues in a natural setting. This can create an increased sense of equality and relaxation.
Short-term and long-term /open-ended support.

About me and my therapy practice
I have an Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision and 17 years of counselling experience, supported by a background as a social worker. I offer individual and group supervision to experienced therapists, trainees, and non-counsellors seeking a reflective process.
As a Â鶹Դ´-registered practitioner, I adhere to the Â鶹Դ´ Ethical Framework, maintain full insurance, and engage in regular CPD and personal supervision.
My Approach
I offer Person-Centred supervision with a flexible approach, working alongside you to challenge and support your development. Whilst trained in adult work, my experience across all ages offers valuable insight to those working with young people.
Whether you’re just starting out, newly qualified, or a seasoned professional, we'll tailor supervision to your evolving needs. I aim to empower you to practise safely and ethically as the therapist you are and aspire to be.
Practice description
What to expect
I focus on providing the core conditions to create a safe, confidential environment for reviewing your work. My aim is for you to feel comfortable bringing all aspects of your practise – both successes and areas for learning.
Supervision is a collaborative process. While I offer my knowledge and experience as supportive feedback, our work will value yours and encourage your autonomy.
Facilitated reflective space for non-counsellors – individual and small group
Alongside supervision for counsellors, I offer reflective sessions for professionals in emotionally demanding roles—healthcare providers, educators, social workers, and probation officers—or others seeking a dedicated space to reflect on their work with independent support.
Personal Therapy for Trainees
I regularly work with counselling trainees, providing reduced-cost counselling.
My first session
Fees
£50.00 per one-hour session, £40.00 for trainees
Trainees: Please note that reports for college may be discussed and collaboratively written in supervision sessions.
