About me and my therapy practice

*Online availability, Monday and Tuesday. Evenings available.

Hi, I’m Holly, and I’m so glad you’re here. Reaching out for support can feel like a big step. Are you experiencing repetitive patterns in your relationships, overwhelming or anxious feelings or maybe a challenging life situation? I'm an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist and my goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as we work together at a pace that feels right for you. My collaborative approach to therapy can help clients explore their goals, build up inner resources, connect with their needs and feel a greater sense of emotional wellbeing.

I've been a therapist since 2010 and have worked as a NHS Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) in different GP practices across North Somerset, where I supported many clients with anxiety, trauma, low mood and loss. I've run therapy groups including a group for carers and one for mothers experiencing postnatal depression and anxiety. Today, I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing on approaches such as Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), CBT and other integrative therapies.

I know how overwhelming life can feel at times, and that opening up to a stranger can feel daunting.  Whether you’re dealing with a specific challenge or simply feeling stuck, I’m here to walk alongside you with warmth, empathy, and understanding.

Practice description

**Are You a Parent Carer (or grandparent/sibling carer) Feeling Overwhelmed? **

Parenting a disabled or neurodivergent child—whether they’re young or grown—can be full of ups and downs. It can also be exhausting, isolating, and emotionally draining. Maybe you’ve just received difficult news, or you’re feeling worn down by the constant battles to get the support your loved one needs. Perhaps you’re carrying the weight of guilt, anxiety, or even trauma from everything your family has been through.

I’m here to offer a safe, understanding space where you can process your emotions, recharge, and find your footing again. I have a deep understanding of the unique challenges parent carers face—the juggling act of practical responsibilities, emotional demands, and the toll it can take on your wellbeing. Counselling and psychotherapy can help you rebuild your emotional strength and find clarity amidst the chaos. If you feel like you'd benefit then please reach out. If I’m not the right fit for you, I’ll do my best to point you toward other services or resources that might better meet your needs.

I also understand that life as a carer rarely follows a predictable schedule, so I’m happy to explore flexible options to make therapy work for you.

My first session

I welcome enquiries to find out more. We can set up an initial free 15 minute phonecall at a convenient time. This is an opportunity for you to ask me any questions and get a feel for my approach. I'll share with you more about how I work. If we decide that that we're a good fit then we can set up some ongoing sessions depending on your needs. At the beginning of working together you can tell me more about what brings you to therapy and what you'd like to get out of therapy.
