About me and my therapy practice

My practice is very centrally based in Camden Town, 5 mins walk from the Northern line tube and numerous bus routes.

I have advanced and extensive training in a very effective and clinical research-based therapy called Intensive short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.  It is designed to resolve anxiety, depression and other problems such as critical thinking and damaging patterns of relating to others. I also work with creative professionals and performers who may be experiencing performance anxiety, writer's block or self-doubt.  I am constantly enhancing my skills so I can help with the current and growing complex problems people are facing.  If you have any questions, please use the details on this page to contact me and I will try to help you or put you in the right direction.

Practice description

My practice is based on both my trainings in Psychodynamic and Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy.   The focus for therapy is uncovering the damaging ways in which we treat ourselves which can trigger conditions such as anxiety, depression, relationship problems, self-doubt, and medically unexplained physical symptoms.  I work in a very pro-active way by observing and highlighting the anxiety and defences that are getting triggered during the session so we can understand what has happened that has caused these responses.   This often is a reflection of similar patterns of behaviour outside the consulting room so we can then work towards resolving these damaging behaviours so you can begin to live a happier and more contented life both personally and professionally.

In order to achieve optimum success, I offer longer sessions of 90 minutes.  This way we have time to work at a deeper level.  

My first session

The first session is a trail therapy session in which I take time to find out exactly what the nature of your emotional problem is.  We spend time look at examples in your current life when the problems arise and how you react.  I also am interested in hearing about your history as experiences as this can often be an important factor in how you behave and respond emotionally.  Towards the end of the session we decide together what the focus for therapy should be in order to achieve the goals you want.
