About me and my therapy practice

I have over 20 years experience as a counsellor and supervisor, working with a wide range of issues. As well as working in Private Practice I co-ran a Counselling Service in an FE College for 20 years and supervised a team of counsellors on placement. Counselling is about establishing a trusting relationship within which clients can explore the thoughts and feelings they have about their current difficulties and find a way forward. I work both short and long term.

I see Supervision as a working relationship within which supervisees are supported in focussing on relevant issues in their counselling work. The purpose of Supervision is to enable the counselling work to proceed in a manner which will benefit the client.

Supervision provides supervisees with an opportunity to receive emotional support and develop knowledge, understanding and skills. It is also a place where standards and ethical practice are monitored.
