About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor and Integrative Clinical Supervisor, with more than 15 years’ experience in working with children, young people and adults. While this work has taken place mostly in school settings, for the past 3 years I have worked in private practice and for an online agency.
Over the years I have incorporated various therapeutic techniques, such as CBT, person-centred and mindfulness. Furthermore, using creative techniques and psychoeducation is something that has been very useful in both my work with adults and young people.
It can be frightening to ask for help, especially from a stranger. This is why my focus is on developing trusting and safe relationships first, listening for your hopes and fears, and working collaboratively to identify what can be achieved in counselling. I provide a space where you can feel heard and understood with sensitivity, empathy, and non-judgment.
I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment by continually broadening my cultural competence, respecting and valuing the diversity and uniqueness that each client brings. These elements are fundamental to building a trusting relationship and align with the Â鶹Դ´ guidelines that regulate my work, as well as my core values. My aim is to help you gain clarity about who you are, your place in the world, and to recognize the power of your own voice.
My psychodynamic approach helps clients become aware of unhelpful behavior patterns that can hinder change. The aim is to improve self-awareness, foster reflection, and understand the mechanisms that contribute to unhealthy relationships and behaviors.
In addition, I incorporate CBT techniques and mindfulness practices to provide clients with practical strategies and a valuable toolbox that supports sustainable change.
Practice description
I have experience working with clients presenting a variety of issues, including low mood, low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, stress (work related +), relationship issues, identity, family conflicts, trauma. I also work with young people and adults with ADHD, autism, and other special educational needs.
Currently, I offer online sessions only for clients aged 16 and above.
If you feel I may be a good fit for your needs, we can have an informal discussion via email or phone before scheduling our first session.
Some additional information that might be useful:
I typically use Microsoft Teams for sessions but can be flexible and accommodate other platforms if necessary.
Sessions usually last 45 to 50 minutes and are held once a week.
During our informal discussion, you can share what brings you to therapy, and we can explore how we might work together and how counselling can support you. This can be done via email, text, or a brief video call.
My first session
After our informal discussion, where I can explain how I can support you—either by phone or via email—we can schedule our first formal session.
The first session will allow us to explore your presenting issues in more depth, identify what you hope to gain from therapy, and agree on some therapeutic goals that we can review and track over time. I also use diagnostic tools to help further identify areas of need.
If you decide to continue, we can discuss the length, frequency, and duration of our sessions, as well as establish a collaborative contract outlining how we will work together moving forward.

About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Child and Adolescent Counsellor (MSc in Psychodynamic Counselling for Children and Adolescents - 2006) and Integrative Supervisor (CPCAB 2019), with more than 15 years’ experience in working with children and young people in school’s settings, including children on SEND.
I have 12 years experience in supervising student counsellors, placed in schools and for the past 2 years I am employed for a charity to deliver supervision to staff counsellors.
I have worked in private practice as a counsellor to adolescents and young adults and supervising counsellors for the past 2 years.
I am also a Tutor on the level 2 and 3 CPCAB courses in counselling skills for children and adolescents, as well as delivering other shorter courses/workshops as a contracted trainer for the charity I work for.
My approach is at its roots psychodynamic, but I have incorporated over the years elements of CBT, person centred and art therapies. A combination of psychodynamic and CBT has been incredibly helpful to my young clients.
I enjoy greatly the supervisory relationship that I have established both in my work at the charity and in private practice, and helping my supervisees explore and reflect on their work.
Practice description
My experience of working in schools where I assessed and delivered both short- and long-term counselling interventions, supervised and trained students and staff counsellors, both for an agency and in private practice, and where I worked in partnership with school staff, parents/carers, external services, such as CAMHS, social services, early help, youth services and other local charities, gives me a whole rounded knowledge which enables me to offer counsellors a rich and systemic style of supervision.
I believe that the supervisory relationship is the pinnacle of the work – the aim is to establish a trustful and creative space where one feels safe to reflect and explore various aspects of the counselling work and counselling relationship. My supervision style is based on the Hawkins and Shohet integrative model of supervision. This means that together we can explore the interaction between client, therapist, and supervisor in its various – direct or indirect -combinations.
My first session
Before you decide whether I am the supervisor for you, join me for a mini taster session, where you can experience how we can work together to enrich your learning and the lives of the children and young people you support.
