About me and my therapy practice
Welcome to my page.
I’m a Person-Centred Counsellor & Psychotherapist offering 50-minute sessions to individuals, couples and groups. I facilitate providing a space of non-judgement, empathy, & genuineness (this extends to being realistic - when it is not right to work together). Potentially this trust and the valuing of your autonomy can aid a more long-term change.
Although it may not seem like it now, in the right environment deeper communication with yourself can arise. This may include hearing & learning to understand aspects of yourself; both in the here & now, and through exploration of prior internalised messages, beliefs & values of the past - that perhaps no longer fit, or prevent you from accessing & processing traumatic wounds. This exploration can include aspects of your culture, workplace, family, heritage, power & areas of disempowerment, such as marginalisation.
About me: I am a cis female of mixed European and North African heritage, with interests in creative practice, polyvagal, ecology and more. I have a decade of experience as a Counsellor & 7 years as a Trainer; whereby my learning & awareness, coupled with an exploration of personal challenges evolved into a deeper connection the myself and the nature around, and part of me. If you are interested in going beyond the room, then counselling outdoors can be arranged. Sessions can be scheduled as walk & talk which can offer grounding & ample opportunity for metaphor as well as an aid to self-regulation.
Working as a trainer, supervisor, and couples/group therapist.
Practice description
Sessions are face-to-face, outdoors, or remote. Regardless of location or expression, I am vested in your direction and promotion of authenticity, as well as 'powerfully' being a companion for where you are.
Outdoors
If you have restricted mobility, we can meet at an agreed outdoor location, or walk and talk along the wooded pathways towards the shoreline.
Creative
I facilitate a creative expression of meaning through arts & sand tray. I am also happy to work with further creative expressions you have an interest in.
Experience
The counselling profession & I aligned in 2011 since then I have gained experience in charities, education & private practice. I also teach and work as a supervisor. I am attachment & trauma-informed & educated in polyvagal theory.
I partake in professional development to revisit & learn more. I also work to take myself out of my bubble to meet what I am not aware of. This includes, but isn’t limited to understanding the impact of social deprivation, differing abilities, neo-conventional family structures & discrimination based on race & ethnicity. Gender, Sexuality, Relationship, Diversity (GSRD) & Neurodivergence.
Do let me know if any adjustments on Zoom, or in-room are required - I am happy to accommodate.

If sessions are scheduled in person, meeting in the room can be helpful as this will be our continued space. The room is bright, yet cosy, located on the first floor of Hamble Memorial Hall. It offers a lift, parking, disabled toilets & disabled parking. If you need adjustments please say.
Regardless of the platform of communication, it is your chance to see if therapy with me is something you'd like to pursue. It's also an opportunity for you to explore what you'd like to achieve, as well, as provide insight into how I work. The counselling agreement contract, including the boundaries and limitations of the sessions, is also explained. If we continue, we find a mutually agreeable time/day to meet, ideally regularly.
Initial/assessment session

Walk & Talk (initial) - £30 (30-minute) in room
Couples (initial) - £35 (60-minute)
ZOOM - Phone Call (initial) - free (30-minute)
Planning
There is no normal to the number of sessions, however if you want brief time limited sessions, what you present should be aligned to a realistic time frame, as there may be a ethical implications to this. Also, we may want to re-assess, if for instance there is an opening of 'Pandora's Box' which may threaten some of the veil that afforded protection; or you may find you just want to spend more time unpacking what you have.
When it isn't wise to continue
If we have someone in common. You are currently experiencing something that in the present moment could be harmful for you to explore. If there is violence towards the partner you are seeking counselling with. Medical assistance. Or major limits to my understanding – as such, it could be better to refer to a colleague more informed by lived experience, or another profession.
