The appointments I offer...
I offer counselling both In-person in my local community and remotely to reach different clients across the UK. I'm able to offer appointments from 9am- 8pm most week days, however, I do not currently offer weekend appointments.
For those who wish to see me in person, I have a counselling room based at Dunsmore Medical Centre, Rugby, Warwickshire. I also offer remote appointments which can be offered either by telephone or online (via Zoom).
About me and my therapy practice
I have over 10 years experience of helping clients through the impacts of loss, bereavement, life changes, relationships, health issues and the anxiety and depression many life events can bring. I specialise in counselling adults impacted by cancer.
I recognise life brings many challenges, and we all experience times of difficulty in our lives. Life events unfortunately do happen…losing loved ones, challenges in our workplaces or losing jobs, changes to our family, breakdowns of our relationships, financial changes, challenges to our health… the list is endless.
The impact of these situations can create a loss of self-worth, direction or even purpose. I help clients work through and make sense of these experiences and help move them towards a better understanding of themselves.
My counselling approach...
My approach to therapy is a Person-Centred one which focuses on empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard. This non-judgemental approach provides emotional support and recognises everyone has a built-in motivation to reach for their full potential, but sometimes they need a bit of support to get there!
My counselling practice...
I am a qualified counsellor and have supported different people from different backgrounds with a range of diverse problems for over 10 years.
I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´, I have regular training, learning and supervision to keep me up-to-date with best practices. I hold an enhanced DBS, I have public liability, professional indemnity and cyber security insurance in place and registered with the Information Commissioners' Office (ICO).
So who am I?...
I’m Juliette. I love chocolate, I dislike the gym (but go to keep me healthy), I love nature and pottering around my garden (free medicine and good for the soul!)
I live with my family and my fluffy cat. I can be a bit of a sweary Mary (expressive, not offensive) and I love music, concerts and festivals. I love catching up with my friends and love binge watching anything on Netflix!
Practice description
My profession before counselling...
I have always worked with people and prior to becoming a counsellor, I worked as a HR professional for a large manufacturing company. It took me nearly 13 years to realise a unionised and controlled environment was not for me. Rules, policies, procedures and conformity was becoming my norm but it didn’t feel right.
Then my life changed very quickly following a sudden loss of someone close to me. Life was put into perspective, I recognised I wanted my profession to be meaningful and reflect me as a person, so I decided to become a counsellor. I left behind the world of business and started my counselling training studying from a basic introduction course to achieving a degree in counselling.
My counselling experience...
I have counselled bereaved clients at Myton hospice which introduced me to working with grief and bereavement. I have also counselled clients at Mind who presented issues to include anxiety, stress, depression, self esteem, confidence, loss, bipolar disorder and PTSD.
In addition to my private practice, I coordinate a counselling service for Shine a Light, a local charity who supports families impacted by cancer.
My specialised experience...
For over 8 years, I have been counselling adults whose lives have been devastated by cancer and the ripple effect a health diagnosis has on someone's life. This includes relationship issues, employment and finance struggles, damaged family and friendships. I have also helped clients work through their issues of cancer treatment, chronic fatigue, trauma, loss, body image, fear, worry, anxiety, low moods and depression.
My remote counselling experience ...
I have worked as an online Betterhelp counsellor using video counselling and instant messaging support. My remote work has given me experience of counselling clients all across the UK covering a range of life events and diverse issues.
All my past and current clients have an age range of 18-85.
My first session
The first step...
The first step after you have made contact with me (whether by phone or email) is for me to arrange a brief conversation with you to understand what is bringing you to therapy (to ensure I am the right therapist to help) and discuss your availability and our first appointment can then be arranged.
If you have never had therapy before or unsure what to expect, I offer a free 30 minute telephone consultation if required. My consultation allows you to raise any concerns or questions you may have or for me to cover anything you are not sure of.
Please be rest assured that all telephone calls are conducted in strict confidence.
If, through our communication, I feel I am not the right counsellor for you, I will say and will point you in the right direction of where to find a suitable counsellor who may better suit your needs.
Our first appointment...
I will confirm our first appointment in writing (usually via email) and you will be asked to agree to my terms of counselling (my client agreement) which will include confidentiality, data protection, cancellation terms etc. Everything will be provided prior to your first appointment but please do ask if there is anything you are unsure of.
My session fees...
Fees vary depending on the delivery method.
In-person appointments are £55.00 per session and Telephone or Online appointments are £50.00 per session.
My payment methods...
I accept cash and bank transfers or can take card payments. I have an online booking system so payments can be made securely online too.
