I hold a small practice where I see clients twice weekly, this is usually on Mondays and Thursdays, however, I can offer some flexibility on other days so please let me know when you submit your enquiry.
I work with clients from a therapy room in central Marsden, Slaithwaite and Huddersfield and offer online sessions if needed. All are easily accessible by train, bus and there is plenty of free road parking if needed.
About me and my therapy practice
Issues such as anxiety, low self-esteem, relational difficulties, addictions, or just feeling stuck or overwhelmed, may be a response to chronic, or recurring issues seated in the past. This is where counselling can be really helpful.
Sometimes, the impact of difficult experiences such as abuse or bereavement, or trauma from early, informative years, can often be out of our awareness and as a result, maladapted coping strategies, learnt behaviours/ways of being and relating can develop. These maladapted coping strategies work to help us function in everyday life, though they are not always healthy and can impact the decisions made throughout life, often repeated!
Working in an Integrative, relational way drawing upon attachment theory, supported with psycho-education, works to help you understand how, and why, such strategies have been constructed.
Therapy and the therapeutic relationship can help to develop a greater sense of self-awareness and to gain confidence. It can offer a place to work through and understand how and why your mind and body responds the way it does when struggling with issues, difficult thoughts and feelings and through this work, help you make healthier, better informed decisions for a healthier, happier self!
