About me and my therapy practice

Hello - I’m Charlotte. I can work with you in person (near Arundel), online (Zoom), or over the phone. I have experience supporting clients who are:

* neurodiverse (including ADHD, Autism and Tourette Syndrome)

* bereaved (grief; before and after end of life; pregnancy loss)

* ill or have physical health needs (cancer; stroke; fibromyalgia; epilepsy)

* facing mental health challenges (such as depression, anxiety and panic attacks)

* questioning (including identity; relationship; milestones and change in life stages)

* parenting (from birth to adulthood; including Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)

My counselling experience comes from working within the Charity sector, NHS and my private practice. I am an integrative counsellor, which means I use a combination of my core training (Psychodynamic approach, qualified 2017), together with elements of other counselling models.

I use lived experience as a child, sibling and parent of neurodiverse family members in my work with clients who are in similar positions, or who are neurodiverse themselves.

In 2021, I established a successful counselling service for a local charity, providing counselling to parents, including those experiencing severe mental illness and domestic abuse.

I am a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´, fully insured and hold an enhanced DBS Certificate and Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) registration, complying with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).

Practice description

Whatever you are going through, we will work together to form a therapeutic relationship, which is a deep connection built on trust, focussing on you and your individual needs and whatever brings you to the point of reaching out for help.

It is my belief, the most important aspect of reaching successful outcomes in counselling, comes from the relationship you build together. For this reason, I encourage you to take your time to consider what you are looking for from counselling and find the right model and person for you. Most counsellors offer an initial conversation, free of charge, and you can use this time to tune into your 'gut feeling' about whether you feel comfortable to take the next step.

If you would like to start counselling with me, we can discuss your preferred way to do that. I work face to face, online and by phone.

I charge £45 per session (50-minutes in length).

My first session

I encourage anyone who is considering whether I may be a good fit for talking therapy to get in touch for a 30-minute free initial conversation.

I appreciate not everyone feels comfortable speaking on the phone, or using video calls, so I am happy to begin with using text/email initially if that is your preference.

After our initial conversation, where I will answer any questions you may have, we will book a suitable time for an assessment. This is a 1-hour appointment, in which I will ask you some questions to enable me to find out more about you and what brings you to the point of seeking counselling. We will use this time to jointly assess whether we feel I am the right therapist for you. The assessment enables you to get more of an idea of how it would be to work with me, and you do not have to start counselling after this if you do not wish to.

I charge £30 for an assessment session.
