About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Richard Bird, thank you for visiting my page. In these challenging times, it is as important as ever to have self-care and look after our mental wellbeing.
I guess my USP is that in my former career, I have 30 years experience working up to Director level in Investment banking in the City of London. I worked mainly for banks, including Barclays, Deutsche Bank and Lehman Brothers.
So if you are looking for a therapist with real world experience of working, along with all the challenges that can bring, I might be the right therapist for you.
In addition to the above, due to my own lived experience, I have a special interest in working with clients who are dealing with long term health conditions.
I will offer a complimentary introductory meeting, which can help you decide if you wish to proceed with counselling.
I am trained to Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and I also work as a Clinical Supervisor, supporting other Counsellors. I also teach Counselling skills to adult students at an independent college.
Practice description
Currently I am offering online sessions, over Zoom, on mondays and tuesdays.
My standard rate is 拢65 per session, although I offer concessions in certain circumstances.
My first session
I offer a complimentary first session either via phone, video call or face to face where possible. This is for us to get to know each other a little, to see if we might be a good fit to work together, with no commitment. We can talk about your reasons for coming to therapy and work out a way forward together.

I now have availability for new Supervisees, as of March 2025.
I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor accredited by CPCAB.
My counselling modality is Integrative, with a Person-centered core, my counselling work is with adult clients.
I aim to be a warm, supportive ally for you in Supervision, where I integrate the Functional, 7 eyed and Cyclical approaches.
I am a Counselling tutor at Diploma level and I offer concessionary rates to students. I work online via Zoom and have availability on mondays and tuesdays.
