About me and my therapy practice

If you’re feeling lost, scared, stuck or distressed, I can offer you support in finding some clarity, offering you warmth and integrity whilst we work together. I know talking about feelings can seem scary - and yet I believe human connection is essential in difficult times. The word therapy literally means ‘to stand beside the other’ and together we can explore challenge or overwhelm, looking at choice and change - at your own pace.

I work with issues including fear, loss and grief/ bereavement; family, parenting and relationship issues, fertility and pregnancy issues, adoption, work problems, anger, general stress or ‘stuckness’; addictive behaviour, anxiety, panic, depression and trauma, as well as neurodiversity - ADHD/ ASC- both in clients and/ or your children/ families. I believe we all exist on a continuum, rather than a spectrum and have a special interest in supporting this.

I also work with couples, currently online only.

I'm also very interested in how we hold emotions, stress & anxiety in our bodies i.e. somatically - and how to locate what causes tension and distress, making it easier to bear. Crucially, I believe we all deserve the chance to express ourselves without feeling judged, and the chance to find our own light, when we may have not felt seen or heard in parts of our lives.

I am Â鶹ԭ´´ Accredited and can see insurance clients (AXA, Aviva etc).

Practice description

Face to face or online/ phone.  During therapy, I'm led by what comes up for you. As a Gestalt therapist, I'm curious about stuck or rigid patterns ('gestalts') that we can all fall into, usually through necessity in earlier life; looking at how to free up old habits or patterns of behaviour that can become harmful.  If you want to simply talk, or are interested in using creativity to gain new perspectives, such as journal or creative writing or free drawing, we can do that together, exploring how to move into new cycles of experience. I draw on different therapeutic models: being particularly interested in what's happening for you right now in the present moment, as well as looking at the past, and any fears for the future.

My first session

I offer a free phone chat of 15 mins to discuss what you're looking for.  A first in-person session (online or face-to-face) is then the chance to see how you feel about therapy: it's a chance for me to find out some information about you, and what is you're looking for help with; the start of a therapeutic relationship to support you as best as possible.  For couples I ask to meet you both online before deciding if we are a good fit for each other.
