About me and my therapy practice
Hello, and thank you for finding the time to look at my page. We all go through times in life when we feel lost, anxious or sad. This can relate to our relationships with others and the way we think and feel about ourselves. When we feel overwhelmed by these feelings or they don't seem to go away it can help to talk to someone outside of our family or friendship group.
I am a Â鶹Դ´ accredited, integrative counsellor working with adults, younger adults and students. I also specialise in working with ADHD, AuADHD and ASD clients, being ADHD myself. I provide a safe, confidential space to explore your feelings and make sense of what is going on in your life. I am experienced in working with a diverse range of people in both community and educational settings.
I understand how tough it can be to consider opening up to a counsellor, and will meet you with warmth, acceptance, care and support. I will also bring humour and playfulness into sessions, where appropriate. You will be heard with respect and without judgement. We will work together to explore what’s troubling you, look at any obstacles getting in the way of you realising your hopes for yourself, and experiment with making lasting changes.
Where appropriate I will draw on my background in working as a Specialist Mentor supporting University students with neurodivergence (including ASD, AuADHD and ADHD), mental health concerns and physical disabilities. I may also draw on embodiment practices or breathwork to help support you and lesson feeling aid anxiety and low mood, such you be open to working in this way.
Moreover, I have a great deal of experience of working with people from a range of class and ethnic backgrounds, beliefs, faiths, ages and sexualities. I will respect, acknowledge and value the difference within and between us.
Practice description
I use different theories and approaches to support clients with different needs. This holistic approach means that I will not see you as a set of symptoms or a problem to be solved, but will help you to take a good look at your life with respect for your unique experience. Together we will explore what you are struggling with, uncover what inspires and energises you, and look at how you want to move forward.
We will work collaboratively by concentrating on what is important to you, and I will support you to gain fresh perspective through reflecting on and understanding yourself, your present situation and experiences and how you relate to yourself. I strongly believe that how we relate to ourselves is central to our happiness and contentment, and this will be at the heart of our work together.
In longer term work we may also explore how your early life and relationships, life circumstances and perhaps difficult histories have shaped you and your current behaviours, patterns and sense of self. Having a better understanding of this is often helpful in terms of being more compassionate to ourselves in our present situations, which is the key to making effective and lasting change.
If you are looking for an EAP counsellor then I am qualified to work in this way. Please contact me to ask for more details.
If you are a civil servant I can lease with a third part charity to potentially help you to obtain discounted sessions. Please ask me for more information.
My first session
I’d invite you have a short and informal 10 - 15 minute chat online or on the phone for you to get a sense of me and what it might be like to work with me, this is free of charge.
Following this in our first session we will spend a short amount of time looking at administration and then start our work together. I will be led you in terms of what you feel it is important for me to know about you and your life. If this feels too much I may ask you to describe for me a typical day in your life - and we will go from there.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello, welcome to my page and thank you for your interest in my work.
We all go through times in life when we feel lost, anxious or sad. This can relate to our relationships with others and the way we think and feel about ourselves. When we feel overwhelmed by these feelings or they don't seem to go away it can help to talk to someone outside of our family or friendship group.
I am an Â鶹Դ´ accredited counsellor, and work integratively, as I believe there isn't just one therapeutic approach that can help a client in all situations. I take into account your circumstances and you as an individual, then use elements of different therapeutic approaches to help you explore and cope with whatever you are experiencing.
I also have a background in tertiary education and alongside running my counselling practice, I work as a Specialist Mentor in Education. This involves providing one-on-one support to help students with learning barriers. I support students with a variety of conditions, including: Autism, ADHD, Mental health conditions, and physical disabilities.
I work in the charity sector also, supporting asylum seekers and refugees and providing training to volunteers in the charity sector on how to create or improve their boundaries.
In my private practice I specialise in working with neurodiverse clients, being ADHD myself. I also specialise in trauma, loss and anxiety, including OCD. Where appropriate I will also draw on my lived experience of being ADHD and on my background of working as a Specialist Mentor. I may also use embodiment practices as a way to support you and to lessen anxiety and low mood
This varied work means that I have a great deal of experience in working with people from a range of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds, beliefs, ages and sexual orientations. I consider this to be a privilege and respect, acknowledge and value the differences between and with us.
