About me and my therapy practice

While relationships can bring a lot of joy, they can at times, feel lonely and distressing. We may feel confused about our feelings towards people we love, becoming 'stuck,' thinking about events that are difficult to talk about. We may fear of creating arguments and conflict. Conversely, we might find ourselves in another pattern of stuckness - repeated arguments that feel exhausting, leaving us worried about the future.

I am an experienced couple and family therapist, working with adults, families and young people, experiencing relationship difficulties. I specialise in working with conflict and communication.

Having previously worked with Relate and Tavistock Relationships, I now I have a private practice in North West London. I also offer sessions online.

I believe in fostering a confidential, respectful space where you are better able to understand yourself and how early experiences shape your perceptions about significant relationships. Through our work, we develop our ability to listen, understand and empathise; while helping you gain insight into why you may be feeling 'stuck' in certain repetitive behaviours.

Often, we find ourselves repeating patterns of attachment, loss and conflict. I help you understand why these patterns emerge and how you might think about them differently, thereby building resilience for yourself and in your relationship(s).

I use a variety of approaches (psychodynamic, systemic, solution focussed and CBT), thereby tailoring my approach to your specific needs.

I am particularly passionate about understanding and working with difference and diversity. A specific area of interest is cross-cultural relationships and being culturally congruent in my practice. I support people from a range of ethnicities, sexualities and faiths. I have also supported individuals and relationships where neurodiversity is present.

Practice description

My primary clinical approach uses psychodynamic modalities, wherein we think about what lies underneath our awareness of thoughts, feelings and behaviours. However, I may use other modalities (systemic, solution focussed and CBT), thereby tailoring my approach to your specific needs. Our work may be time limited or long term, based on what you find helpful.

I have also completed specialist training in working with couples who are separated and/or considering separation/divorce. I am particularly interested in supporting separating couples and co-parents who are considering this difficult step. Our work together will help you manage the process compassionately and respecfully, while holding children in mind.
