About me and my therapy practice
Contacting a counsellor can be scary, so I appreciate you taking the time to look at my counselling directory and consider working with me.
I am passionate about working with clients in distress to help bring about the change that the client wishes to make. Clients describe me as a warm, empathic, safe and a caring counsellor, where they feel able to share and talk through their difficult experiences, thoughts and emotions without being judged.
Anxiety
Clients are often experiencing very difficult anxiety that is preventing them from living their lives in a meaningful way, working in a safe way we can explore how you experience anxiety and how we can work together to overcome it.
Difficult Childhood Experiences
You may wish to work on some difficult childhood experiences, to make sense of what happened to you and understand how your experiences in childhood impact on the way you feel about yourself and others.
Anybody can experience abuse or a traumatic event at any point in their life, by working together, counselling can help us to explore these experiences in a safe way, with the aim of healing.
Students
For student counsellors, I am experienced in working with students undergoing counselling training.
For students studying other subjects, I have a lot of experiencing of those dealing with stresses of being a student.
ADHD Clients
I have considerable experience of working with client who have a diagnosis of ADHD, I have attended extensive training on this to be more neurodivergent aware.
Male Clients
I work a lot with men who are struggling to identify and understand their feelings, and the impact this has on their relationship with themselves and their family and also in their intimate relationships. Through our work together, male clients have felt a sense of relief at being able to talk about these difficulties and describe their experience of how this has benefited their family/intimate relationships.

How I Work
Working in an integrative relational way, drawing on a range of theories that meet your need, at your pace, understanding counselling can be difficult and anxiety provoking. My aim is to help you bring clarity your thoughts, feelings and emotions, to bring about a sense of peace and calm in your wellbeing and a process of healing.
I draw on a vast range of experience from the NHS, MIND, university students, student counsellors and EAP providers. I have worked in the charity sector for over 20 years.
If you would like to book your counselling with me then I offer a free brief introductory 15 minute call via Zoom/TEAMS or telephone, to discuss what your counselling may look like for you.
I am a Â鶹Դ´ registered counsellor.
I am trained Trauma Informed Practitioner.
You can book an introductory call via Zoom/TEAMS, or book an assessment session. I always send you my counselling contract before our first session, which outlines who I work as a professional practitioner.
In our first session, it is an opportunity for you to tell me your experience and how they are impacting on you. You may wish to set some goals for our work together, so that you feel like it is working for you, we can review these goals regularly throughout your sessions.
It is important to discuss your expectation of therapy and me as your counsellor and for us to consider how sessions can be emotional and how you manage that between your counselling sessions.

Being qualified in an integrative, relational model, places my relationship with you, my supervisee, at the heart of our work together, this is underpinned by my supervisors training in the seven-eye relational model of supervision.
Fundamental to my practice is the belief that supervision should be supportive, educative and normative and I work with this in mind.
I have a considerable amount of experience of working with experienced counsellors, counsellors in private practice, and student counsellors. I currently work for a charity in Cardiff as a Clinical Lead but I have supervised those working in both EAP and Health Insurance settings.
