About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Olivia, a professional therapist specialising in supporting people navigating life’s transitions. Each stage of life can bring us into uncharted territory—whether it's becoming parents, experiencing loss or struggling with relationships. These transitions can leave us grappling with who we are and what comes next. You may be dealing with self-doubt, internal conflict, a loss of self-worth or identity, unhappiness in your relationships or mental health challenges that have become difficult to manage. Though these periods can feel overwhelming, they also offer rich opportunities for growth, given space to explore and understand them.
My approach is rooted in curiosity and compassion, guiding you to explore all parts of yourself—your desires, vulnerabilities, and strengths. Together, we will uncover the patterns and stories that have shaped your life, empowering you to make choices that align with your authentic self.
If you are looking for a growth-oriented approach to feeling better and functioning better, I would be honoured to walk this path with you.
I offer a no-fee 20-minute consultation where we can discuss your hopes for therapy, explore how we might work together, and look at availability. I work locally and internationally online and have limited availability for in-person sessions.
I am a Professional Fully Qualified Counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, with a broad range of experience working with a local Counselling Charity alongside my Private Practice.
Practice description
I work with:
• Anxiety, stress, nervousness, fear, panic attacks and OCD.
• Ageing and menopause
• Couples and Individuals
• Grief and loss: of loved ones, friends, a career, your health, or a life you feel you no longer have.
• Depression, low mood, feeling without hope or motivation.
• Divorce, problem relationships, family tensions, isolation and loneliness.
• Low self-esteem, self-worth or a loss of identity.
• New Parents; the highs and lows of becoming Parents and the shifting dynamics in intimate relationships are areas of special interest in my work
• Problematic coping mechanism such as excessive drinking and over-eating.
• Trauma
I work online via Zoom video call, with occasional limited space for in-person therapy. I undertook specific training in practicing online in order to deliver effective therapy and meet with people without the restrictions of location and travel.
Individual Therapy (50-minute) £55. Intensive solution-focussed (90-minutes) £80 and Couples Therapy (60-minutes) £65.
I work using a variety of approaches tailored to your needs. These include, Gestalt Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Internal Family Systems, Attachment & CBT.
Gestalt focusses on our here & now experience, in mind & body, drawing together our past hurts & our fears for the future, bringing into awareness our 'stuckness' & repeating patterns of thought & behaviour. It explores our learned ways of coping that may no longer be useful to us.
Internal Family Systems is a fascinating look at our internal world, the variety of 'Parts' that help or hinder us and how coming to know them more fully helps us to understand what is is to be us and how to become more fully who we want to be.
Transactional Analysis is a psychoanalytic look at how we develop throughout our lives and the messages we receive that shape our self perception and communication.
Attachment Theory underpins our style of relating to others and is crucial in relationship work.
My first session
Once you have decided to get in touch, we can arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial 20-minute consultation. This is free of charge and provides an opportunity to begin to get to know one another, to look at what has bought you to seek therapy and is a time for you to decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
Availability: I realise that life can be busy and unpredictable and so aim to be as flexible as possible. Appointments can be made singularly, in blocks or on a flexible basis as we go along.
