About me and my therapy practice

Are your thoughts, feelings and/or behaviours getting in the way of you feeling well? Maybe you are feeling frustrated, confused, overwhelmed or discouraged by the constant cycles of suffering you seem to experience?

I know how isolating this can feel and I am here to let you know that you don’t need to face it alone. I’m Tracey and I’ve been working therapeutically with individuals (adults and teens) for over 15 years in a number of settings including various charities, the NHS, International Schools in Asia and the Middle East and in Private Practice. In addition to my therapeutic practice I have taught trainee counsellors on an Integrative Counselling Degree Programme.

I am an ONLINE Person Centred Therapist and I draw upon a wide range of therapeutic tools and methods to help you process and move through what’s going on for you. I aim to offer you a therapeutic relationship that is rich in compassion, empathy, transparency and an unconditional acceptance of all of who you are and what you are experiencing.

I specialise in working with people who are struggling with relational issues; either your relationship with yourself and/or the relationships you have with others. Whether you are experiencing difficult feelings around self worth and value, shame, identity, body image, struggling with unhelpful relationship patterns or dealing with the weight of loss (-from the end of a relationship, the passing of a loved one, transitioning into different stages of life or losing a sense of yourself), I understand how deeply these experiences can affect your life and I am here to support you.

Practice description

The aim of therapy, as I see it, is to help you to connect with yourself and your personal story in a deeply compassionate way so that you can free yourself from the grasps of thoughts, feelings, emotions, patterns and blocks that may be impacting your life.

My approach is deeply rooted in the Person Centred Approach and my priority is to create a therapeutic relationship that enables you to feel safe enough to meet all of yourself at psychological depth.

Decades of therapeutic research shows us that there is no one way to ‘do therapy’ and that different things work for different people at different times. With this in mind, whilst I won’t tell you what you ‘should’ do or pretend to be ‘the expert’ on you, I may tentatively offer you ideas, techniques and/or strategies that may be of value to your process.

I draw upon various evidence-based ideas, tools, techniques from a wide range of Psychological and Therapeutic modalities and theories. These include, Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Compassion Based Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Art & Creative Therapies, Solution Focused Therapy, CBT, Inner Child Work, Attachment Theory, NeuroScience, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness.

My hope is that therapy with me supports you in uncovering your sense of personal power and that you find the experience;

Creates a deeper awareness of yourself, your experiences and the blocks and patterns that are impacting you, your relationships and your life

Enables you to be with your thoughts, feelings and emotions without them overwhelming you and driving your actions

Encourages you to be more compassionate and supportive of the process and transformation you are undergoing

Provides you with tools, strategies and techniques that work for you and that enable you to access your emotional and personal well-being

My first session

I offer a complimentary, no-obligation 20 min chat prior to starting therapy with me. This is to give you the opportunity to get a better sense of who I am and how I work, so that you can decide if I am the right therapist for you.

I work online using zoom video conferencing and once we decide to work together I will send you a zoom link for our first 50 minute session.

My aim is to work collaboratively with you so that together we can create a path towards your own healing and wellbeing. During our first session together I am interested in getting to know you. Whilst I am open to whatever you may bring to our session, I may tentatively ask you some questions about what brings you to therapy, perhaps what current and past experiences are impacting you and what you hope to get from your therapy sessions.
