About me and my therapy practice

Would you like to trust your inner experience, quiet your mind, and cultivate resilience? I offer a collaborative therapeutic relationship, combining advanced holistic practices to help you release past traumas, let go of limiting beliefs, and reconnect with your body's inner wisdom and self-worth—guiding you back home to yourself.

I’m Laura—an integrative, relational counsellor and Brainspotting therapist. My work is rooted in the understanding that healing occurs not only in the mind but also in the body, supported by an attuned witness. At the heart of my practice is an empathic relationship that nurtures self-awareness, self-trust, and self-compassion—for both you and your body’s story. I support the development of non-judgmental somatic awareness, fostering a fully embodied sense of self, to help regulation, grounding and prevent burnout, stress and withdrawal.

I work with the full range of human experience, supporting individual adults in person in Salisbury and online across the UK. In addition to working with a diverse range of clients, I have specialist training, experience, and a deep interest in how transgenerational and developmental trauma is held in the body. I also provide experienced, affirming care for neurodivergent individuals, LGBTQIA+ communities, and those who are gender and relationship expansive.

Therapy isn’t just about talking—it’s about being truly seen, understood, and met where you are with patience and sensitivity. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or searching for deeper meaning, I offer a space where every part of you is welcome. Together, we’ll find a voice for all that you’ve experienced, even for what words can’t fully express.

Practice description

With nearly twenty years of experience in mental health settings, including five years in private practice, I offer trauma-informed, mind-body care to support healing on every level.

Unresolved trauma can manifest in many ways—whether through physical symptoms such as body pain, headaches, digestive issues, or fatigue, or emotional struggles like anxiety, self-sabotage, or feeling disconnected. Often, trauma’s effects are pushed aside as a way to cope, leading to patterns of avoidance or escapism. Together, we will gently explore these patterns, helping you reconnect with your body and release what no longer serves you, fostering greater peace and self-acceptance.

To support your healing, I draw on a range of approaches tailored to your unique needs. These include Interpersonal Neurobiology, which helps rewire the brain for emotional regulation through safe, supportive relationships; Somatic Parts Work, which uses body awareness to heal trauma and promote authenticity; Body Psychotherapy, which releases tension and trauma stored in the body; Brainspotting, which accesses deep trauma memories to facilitate healing; and Transactional Analysis, which deepens self-awareness and helps improve relationships. Together, these approaches support emotional balance, trauma recovery, and a greater sense of well-being.

As a queer and neurodivergent practitioner, my approach is informed by both personal and professional experience of the challenges faced by those in marginalised communities. I understand how intersecting identities can impact mental health and physical well-being. In our work together, I aim to foster pride in who you are and honour your lived experience, while also acknowledging that trauma can persist due to societal othering and the challenges of being perceived as ‘different.’

My first session

If what you’ve read resonates with you and you’d like to learn more, feel free to get in touch via text, email, or my website’s contact form. You can enquire about my availability, share a little about what you’re looking for, and how I may be able to support you. I aim to respond within 48 hours to offer options and arrange a free 15-minute consultation by phone or Zoom.

Our initial conversation is an opportunity for you to get a sense of how I work in a relaxed and welcoming space. Whether you have a clear idea of what you need or are still exploring, my role is to ensure you feel heard and understood. You’re welcome to ask any questions that feel important, and it’s completely okay if you don’t have any at this stage.

If you feel I’m the right fit, you’re welcome to let me know during the consultation, but there’s no rush—I encourage you to take your time before making a decision. When you’re ready, I’ll provide all the information needed for our first session, and you’re always welcome to get in touch if you have any questions beforehand.

In our first session, I provide a space where you can simply be as you are. There’s no ‘right’ way to approach therapy—it’s about building a connection that feels safe and authentic. My approach is individually attuned, so I don’t use standard assessment forms; instead, I trust that you will share what feels important at your own pace. I may ask questions in response to what you bring, and if you're unsure where to start, I can gently guide the conversation. There are no expectations, especially at the beginning. By the end of the session, you’ll have a clearer sense of how I work, and we can move forward from there.
