About me and my therapy practice

Have you ever been told or felt that you鈥檙e too much?

Too sensitive, too emotional, too intense. Maybe that鈥檚 something you鈥檝e carried with you for a long time鈥攍ike somehow you鈥檙e too much and not enough, all at once.

You might be someone who feels things deeply but struggles to trust your own instincts. The one who keeps it all together. You notice the slightest shift in someone鈥檚 mood, pick up on unspoken tension, and often step in to fix things before anyone even asks. Over time, you may have learned to hide your own feelings, to stay strong, or to shrink yourself to keep the peace.

Even when everything seems "fine" on the surface, it can be hard to relax. You might feel constantly on edge鈥攍ike you鈥檙e always waiting for something to go wrong, second-guessing yourself, or wondering if it鈥檚 your fault. Maybe you鈥檝e become so focused on other people鈥檚 needs that you forget to check in with your own. Or maybe you鈥檝e learned it feels safer not to need anything at all.

If you鈥檝e ever been told to 鈥渟top overthinking it鈥 or to 鈥渏ust let it go,鈥 you already know鈥攊t鈥檚 not that easy.

How Therapy Can Help

I鈥檓 here to help you make sense of all that inner noise.

You don鈥檛 need to arrive to therapy with everything figured out. We can begin wherever you are, with whatever you鈥檙e holding. This space is just for you to explore what鈥檚 going on and start to get a clearer picture of who you are, without the constant self-doubt. It鈥檚 about taking the time to listen to yourself鈥攜our real self鈥攁nd trusting that what you feel matters.

It isn't about 鈥渇ixing鈥 you鈥 it鈥檚 about making space for the parts of you that have been carrying too much, and helping you move forward with more clarity and compassion.

Practice description

I offer face-to-face sessions in a lovely, peaceful room in Gosforth.

Therapeutic Approach

I aim to create a space where you can be honest, curious, and fully yourself鈥攚ithout pressure or judgement.

Alongside talking therapy, I also offer creative ways of working if that feels helpful鈥攖hings like guided visualisations, metaphor, or using images and drawing. You don鈥檛 have to think of yourself as 鈥渃reative鈥 for this to be useful. Sometimes, working in this way can help you express what鈥檚 hard to put into words.

I also draw on EMDR and parts work鈥攁pproaches that can support you in working through past experiences and the patterns that still affect you now. These methods can be especially useful when feelings or reactions feel out of proportion, or when something just won鈥檛 shift. You don鈥檛 need to know anything about these beforehand鈥攚e鈥檒l figure out what鈥檚 right for you together.

I usually work with clients weekly, at the same time each week. That consistency helps build trust, offers a steady rhythm to the work, and gives you a regular place to come back to yourself.
