About me and my therapy practice
Why Therapy?
Therapy is one time when it is all about you. Your experiences, your feelings, you relationships. When things feel difficult – whether or not you know the reasons why, therapy can really help. How? At the heart of therapy is your relationship with your therapist. When your therapist offers you space to think and to feel, uninterrupted and without judgement, you can start to make more sense of things, together. So, it’s important to find a good connection that feels psychologically self.
You might be here seeking help in your partnership and as part of my work with couples, I seek to offer a space that feels so equitable where you can both be heard and where ruptures can be repaired.
Practice description
Why Me?
I am an experienced, warm Individual and Couples Therapist with a background in Psychodynamic Counselling. As a Registered Member of the Â鶹Դ´, I work to the body’s standards of Good Practice and their Code of Ethics. My approach starts with you - I am here to enter your world of meaning - your background and experiences in relation to all areas of your life: identify, gender, sexuality, race, culture, faith, mental health, neurodiversity. For this reason, I adapt my approach and draw on different psychological concepts according to what you bring so you/your can couple explore your feelings, beliefs and behaviours in a manner that feels safe and available. From experience, I observe when people feel met in this way, they’re more able to access their emotions, make shifts and develop the self-awareness needed to create an internal sense of solace and security in an uncertain world. Together, we’ll think about what’s brought you here. Together, we’ll look at how things can be different. Together, we’ll work on it.
To ensure I’m always doing my best for you, I engage with Continuing Professional Development, all the while underpinning my practice with warmth and integrity. Specifically, I am trained in CBT, Psychosexual Studies and I am undergoing currently training in ADHA Coaching and Eating Disorders including OSFED and ARFID.
