About me and my therapy practice

I am a Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited counselIor providing a safe, non-judgmental, confidential space for you to explore what has brought you to counselling. I will work at your pace to help you make sense of your situation and identify changes you may wish to make.

I am experienced in working with individuals struggling with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficulties in relationships, work challenges, negotiating life transitions, health problems, living with a life limiting illness, being in a caring role and the impact of a bereavement.

How I work

As a psychodynamic counsellor our work will have a relational focus. We will establish a trusting working therapeutic relationship within which we will seek to understand what is concerning you and, where helpful, reflect on previous relationships and experiences and how they might provide helpful insights into your current challenges. We may also notice how you are experiencing counselling and what arises in the counselling room. These reflections can help you gain a fresh perspective of your situation, a clearer sense of yourself and understand what may help going forward.

About me

I am an experienced psychodynamic therapist. I have a postgraduate diploma in psychodynamic counselling, and I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´). I have worked for over 6 years with adult clients in Â鶹ԭ´´ accredited counselling services. I have been a volunteer counsellor for a hospice charity and worked as an associate counsellor for a Southampton charity. Prior to training as a counsellor, I supported adults and older adults with a range of physical and mental health issues, including those receiving palliative and end of life care.

I will go through this with you when you start therapy. If you contact me and decide not to proceed with therapy I will delete your personal details.

My first session

If you feel this kind of support would be helpful, please contact me by email or telephone. I will then message you to arrange a brief free telephone call to discuss what brings you to counselling and answer any immediate questions you may have. The next step is to arrange an initial face to face consultation to talk further about the challenges you are facing and how we might work together. If we both agree it would be beneficial to proceed with counselling, I will offer a 50 minute session at the same time each week.
