About me and my therapy practice
Dip Couns, Dip Psych, MÂ鶹Դ´.
Whether you're feeling a need for certain things to change in your life or are looking for a safe space to process your feelings, I offer humanistic counselling with core training in Person-centred, Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches. Humanistic counselling places you as the expert in your own life and encourages positive change through personal growth and self-acceptance. My practice is underpinned by Carl Rogers’ Person-Centred Theory that we all born with an innate knowing of what’s right for us and given the right conditions, can rediscover it and live authentically.
Practice description
I’m a Â鶹Դ´ accredited counsellor and offer trauma-focused support grounded in safe healing protocols, including EMDR, Children's Accelerated Trauma Techniques (CATT) and Polyvagal theory.
I work alongside children and adult clients processing difficulties such as anxiety disorders, panic disorders, phobias, OCD, traumatic experiences, PTSD, depression, attachment trauma, grief and loss, relationship or family ruptures and coping with change.
On a personal level I believe in a whole-hearted approach of offering kindness, empathy and safety as a necessary foundation for therapeutic change and work with people from all faiths and backgrounds.
My first session
Our first meeting will include building a shared agreement of goals and ways of working, which can be reviewed at regular intervals, depending on length of therapy. It can feel a little overwhelming to take the first step in getting in touch, but clients share a sense of feeling lighter after doing so and appreciate talking without fear in a safe, confidential space. I offer long or short-term therapy and would welcome you getting in touch if you think I may be able to help.
