About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kate and I offer professional yet down to earth counselling, allowing you to explore life's difficulties (whatever they may be) and find a way forward that’s right for you.
Practice description
Talking helps. When we’re overwhelmed, confused or feel that something isn’t right with us, talking to someone independent, who will listen with sensitivity and without judgement, can really help bring awareness and enable personal change.
I hope that you will find in me a professional but ‘real’ person. I will really listen to you so that I can understand what it’s like being you at the moment. Together, we will work to get you back on track, with clarity about why things feel like they do and positive ways to deal with your issues. I’m not going to tell you what to do or just sit there and nod; I want you to feel that I’m actively alongside you and that I have your back.
I have an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy. My experience comes from counselling many individuals in different settings and also from having worked in people-based roles where I supported and coached individuals and teams through work/people-related challenges.
My first session
The relationship you have with your counsellor will be key to effective therapy for you. I therefore offer a free initial 30 minute phone call where we can talk about what you’re hoping to get out of counselling and establish together whether I could be the right counsellor for you. I hope I am.
I offer remote therapy which can give added flexibility and give you additional peace of mind around privacy (you won’t bump into me!). This is either via Microsoft Teams (I will send you a recurring invite - you don’t need to have the app) or via phone.
What I can help with
Abuse, Anger management, Anxiety, Bereavement, Cancer, Depression, Development coaching, Health related issues, Identity issues, Loss, Personal development, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Stress, Work related issues
Types of therapy
Humanistic, Integrative, Person centred
Clients I work with

How I deliver therapy
