About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced and effective counsellor working one to one with adults aged 18+. My approach is integrative and psychotherapeutic which means I am trained in a number of counselling and psychotherapy theories and can adapt my approach to one most suited to you.
I work with a wide range of issues but have a particular interest and experience in working with bereavement, health concerns, anxiety, depression, stuckness, relationship difficulties and neurodivergence.
The most important factor with counselling and psychotherapy is that you get on with your therapist so we can build an effective therapeutic relationship . You are always in control of each session and what we cover.
In addition to talking therapy, I offer optional creative approaches such as using imagery, drawing, therapeutic cards or sand play to help you explore the issue you bring.
I am a GSRD-friendly therapist.
Practice description
Technically, I am an integrative counsellor with core training in Person-centred, Gestalt, Transpersonal and cognitive behavioural therapies (CBT) and additional psychotherapeutic training and a degree in psychology.
What I hope clients experience is a gentle approach where exploring your issue is made as easy and natural as possible.
Therapy is an investment in you and I aim to offer value for money. Many clients experience a significant improvement in 6 sessions but this depends on the complexity of the issue and the investment of the client in change. Some clients choose to come for longer term therapy and that is something that I can offer too.
My first session
Usually we start with a phone call where we can begin to get to know each other and you can decide whether you wish to book a session with me.
At our first session we will explore more about what it is you are bringing to counselling, what you hope to get out of it, and make sure that we can work safely together. I aim to ensure you feel comfortable and safe and we will work at a pace that suits you.
