About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Sarah Guthrie. I love about helping people find balance, create change in many forms and work through life transitions and challenges.

I am a trauma informed, therapist and therapeutic coach working with the whole person, from their mind, body, and spirit to the conscious and unconscious parts waiting to be explored.

My approach is relational, which means our relationship is central to our work together. This is your space to come as you are and bring what you wish, however difficult that may be. Every person is unique and I incorporate a range of theories and approaches to suit each individual. If you wish, creative and embodiment practices can be woven into our sessions. This can be through art, collage, poetry, meditation, movement, visualisations, rituals, ancestral, inner child and parts work.

Therapeutic coaching can help you work towards creating positive changes. Coaching can be particularly beneficial to those with ADHD, activating the Dopamine reward centre by implementing strategies to moving forward.

My specialisms are trauma, loss, self-esteem, anxiety, relationships, life purpose, neurodiversity, LGBTQIA+ and highly sensitive people.

As children, we tell ourselves stories for survival but through newfound self-compassion and esteem, you can free yourself from the story without it being diminished. Counselling and coaching provide a place for you to express your fears and anxieties, and enables you to develop resilience and hope for the future. Most importantly, a place for you to be yourself and feel heard.

Practice description

I offer therapy and therapeutic coaching online throughout the UK.

I have experience of counselling at the Swan Project in Bristol where I worked with people dealing with complex trauma, mental health issues and addiction, in addition to this, I have counselled students at Durham University, where I gained a wide range of experience and developed as a therapist.

I am part of a network of Bristol-based neurodiverse therapists. Attention Allies consists of experienced and qualified therapists who offer online, in room, outdoor and blended counselling, psychotherapy and coaching to people who are diagnosed with or identify as having ADHD as well as other forms of neurodiversity, including Autism, Dyspraxia, Dyslexia etc. You can find us at: https://attention-allies.org/

I am passionate about equality and diversity and believe in creating an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. I have experience of counselling a wide range of individuals with a number of issues and from different backgrounds. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally.

Both counselling and coaching are a transformative process that can involve looking within and digging deep, and that takes courage. With this in mind, it is important that you find the right counsellor. It may be me, or it may be someone else. If it is me, you will be met with warmth and friendliness from the outset.

60 minute session - £60

90 minute session - £80

Concessionary rate - £45

I also offer walk and talk therapy between April and October

Please visit my website for further information about me and my specialisms.
