About me and my therapy practice

Everyone has the necessary resources within them to deal with many of life's challenges, however sometimes it can feel as though they are not immediately accessible. Therefore, it is beneficial to talk to somebody about what you're going through to garner new understanding and insights and rebuild your emotional and mental resilience. I offer this in a non-judgemental and client-led space.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in East London. I have a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and am a registered member of the Â鶹ԭ´´, working towards accreditation.

Prior to retraining as a Therapist, I trained as a Midwife and have worked in various roles across the NHS and voluntary sector over the last 10 years. I have experience of working with clients on both a short-term and long-term basis.

I have supported clients through a broad range of issues including:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression and low moods
  • Grief and loss (including child loss)
  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Birth trauma and medical trauma
  • Domestic and sexual violence
  • CSA and SA
  • Women's health
  • Disability and ill health
  • Parenthood and relationships

Some key training and CPD:

  • Professionals working in the Sexual Violence Sector (through Solace Women's Aid)
  • Creative Therapy in Practice
  • Birth Trauma Training (through Make Birth Better)
  • Baby Loss (through SANDS charity)

Practice description

I currently offer sessions via Zoom and face to face on request.

My first session

During our first session, we will go through a verbal 'contract' which will outline the practicalities (e.g. confidentiality and data protection) and expectations of therapy.

We will then use the first session as a scoping session, where I will ask you questions to find out more about you and your life and what you would like therapy to help you with. I will encourage you to set 1 or 2 goals you would like to achieve over the course of our sessions. We will then agree a therapeutic plan together, and the work will begin in the next session if you're happy to proceed.

Prior to our first session commencing, I offer a short introductory phone call so we can introduce ourselves and ensure we are a good fit to work together therapeutically. This phone call will not be charged.
