About me and my therapy practice
I work with Individuals and Couples. I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel truly heard. Over the years working in Mental health and therapy I've learned that understanding your story can be a powerful step towards to self-acceptance, healing and change. I am here to walk alongside you as we untangle those stories and uncover your inner strengths.
My work with Individuals : Do you often put other people first or you are struggling with overwhelming feelings like anxiety, depression, low mood or anger? Are you feeling exhausted and unsure how to create space for yourself or are you feeling 'stuck'? Together we can 'untangle your story', prioritize your self-care, rebuild your confidence and create a life that feels more balanced and fulfilling.
My work with Couples : Are you feeling unheard or dismissed by your partner, stuck in the same unresolved arguments? Perhaps trust has been broken, leaving you uncertain about your relationships future, or your are feeling increasingly distant from each other. In our sessions together I create a safe space where you can slow down, truly listen and start to reconnect. Together we will work on improving communication, rebuilding trust, and rediscovering the connection that brought you together.
Practice description
I am a trauma-informed counsellor. I have 6 years experience of working in a trauma agency dealing with historical childhood sexual abuse, and sexual assault. I am experienced in supporting people with sexual trauma helping people who are struggling with post traumatic stress symptoms, suicidal thoughts, self-harm and trauma recovery.
Anxiety, depression and low mood
I can support you with anxiety and depression helping you to work through some of the underlying issues behind it, such as life stresses or it maybe part of ADHD and Autism. This might be finding practical ways to help you deal with life on a day-to-day basis. I have a special interest in Parts Work which can be helpful in this area
Loss and Grief
I can support you struggling with grief, loss and change that can occur in life. Be it from bereavement, loss of jobs and transitional life changes. Offering a warm, and safe space to explore these issues.
I have a a rich and varied experience of working in healthcare, complementary therapies and mental health support. For the past 6 years I have worked in a third sector charity for people who have experience sexual assault, rape and childhood sexual abuse. I bring a trauma informed holistic approach to my work as a therapist.
