About me and my therapy practice

Hey I’m Zareena – a Â鶹ԭ´´ registered Counsellor.

I am a mum, a frontline worker, a volunteer and someone who believes passionately in the strengths of others. I am of dual heritage and have both personal and professional experience and understanding of many cultures and backgrounds.

Our worries, relationships, losses, traumas, emotions and well-being can become overwhelming. At times we can feel very alone. Confidence and self-esteem can be impacted leaving us feeling low or unsure and it can be difficult to get out of that cycle.

Perhaps you just want to be heard or find ways to work through some of your uncomfortable emotions, thoughts, develop your confidence self awareness or find new ways of managing.

Maybe the issues are deeper more complex challenges or pains that you would like help with?

Counselling can help you address these difficulties and work through emotions learning to understand yourself in new ways creating the potential to grow and make positive changes.

Reaching out can be really difficult, but if you can, reach out say I’m struggling, I can’t cope, I don’t know what to do, I don’t know if I want to be here anymore, you will not be alone and you will be heard.

If you are ready to take that step you will be met with genuine care and compassion in a safe space of no judgement, no pressure where we can work together to make a meaningful difference to your life.

Practice description

Person-Centered approach means you are always at the centre of our work and the strength of the relationship we build together will be key.

The foundation of my practice is trauma informed, care and advocacy. This approach has built my practice, providing clients with compassion, understanding and practical tools to recognise and change patterns and rebuild.

I use my passion, calmness and commitment as a therapist to create warmth, a confidential and a non-judgmental place where my clients can be accepted as they are so thoughts, feelings and behaviours can be explored safely.

We will work together at your pace to look at the issues that are impacting you.

Once we have begun to identify the issues and where they stem from we can work together to create aims to work towards.

I work with adults and young people who are experiencing challenges in their life for example feeling low or hopeless, depression, anxiety, in crisis, trauma, low self esteem or are struggling with deeper mental health challenges.

I have extensive experience and skills in working with those who have been impacted by all types of abuse and I am deeply committed to working through that experience with survivors to get to a place of peace, healing and being able to move forward.

I work with education (14+), and have extensive specialised experience in the voluntary sector and domestic abuse services.I would hope that in our sessions you will experience warmth and being heard.

My first session

If you feel ready and you feel that I may be the right Counsellor for you, contact me and we can arrange a free initial consultation to speak over the phone.

This will provide the opportunity for me to find out a bit more about you and answer any questions you may have about counselling.

Should we decide to work together I will send you a brief assessment to find out how you have been feeling over the last couple of weeks and at our first session we would go through what we could expect from our work and identify any aims you would like to work towards.
