About me and my therapy practice
I am a Person-Centred Therapist offering counselling, CBT, EMDR and solution focused therapy for young people, adults and older adults. I have also worked in agencies that specialise in sexual abuse and trauma.
The search for a therapist is a hugely personal one and the outlook for the therapy depends on the quality of the relationship between therapist and client.
As a qualified Person-Centred Therapist and accredited member of the Â鶹Դ´ (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), I offer empathy, compassion and confidentiality in a pleasant warm space where you can explore thoughts and emotions that are troubling you.
I am also a qualified CBT and EMDR counsellor offering solution focused therapy. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy is a holistic approach that focuses on thoughts, emotions, physical feelings and behaviours and how these may be manifesting as, for example, anxiety and depression. This is a collaborative approach to therapy which is research based and effective. It can involve psycho education and an exploration of core beliefs giving the client the tools to move forward.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapy is extremely effective for helping clients process difficult and traumatic life events.
I have lived a multicultural life both in the UK and overseas having had a career in Education before Counselling. Whilst in Education I worked as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and Head of Inclusion in International Schools both in the South of France and in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Through the process of therapy, a person finds that they can learn to become the person that they really want to be, their authentic selves. Through counselling, you can strip away past conditioning and look at relationships that do not serve you.
