About me and my therapy practice

Within the provision of a non judgemental, unconditionally accepting and culturally attuned environment, I hope clients experience the therapeutic space a safe one.

I believe the client is the expert in their own life (even if they don't feel like they are). Part of my work is to help you make the best of your own experience and understanding, leading to change and growth and into new ways of being, thinking and feeling.

My work as a pluralistic therapist is underpinned by modern developmental thinking from Neurobiology, Attachment and Trauma theory.

Work with younger children is through the medium of play. This work also includes working closely with families. Externalization of the child's inner world through symbolic working through are some of the ways that comfort and security can be restored and developmental growth ensured.

Similarly for the adolescent, sensitivity, respect, safety and permissiveness within the therapeutic space enables the physiological, psychological and interpersonal well being from disruptions, overwhelm and compromise.

My first session

First sessions are usually about assessment and are also an opportunity for you to decide if you feel comfortable with me and if I am the right therapist for you.

The assessment process is an exploration of the relational, developmental, existential and situational contexts of the presenting issue(s), together with the meaning which is made of them.
