About me and my therapy practice

 Hi, my name is Anita, I am Person-Centred. Counselling is a connection between two people, in a confidential space, where a person can feel safe to express what issues they are experiencing and for them to be heard without judgement. If you are stress, anxiety or grigoing through a difficult time, counselling can provide an empathetic understanding, where you can be yourself.

I am Person-Centred, which means that you are my focus and I am with you psychologically, attuning to your personal perception and experiences. By listening to gain an understanding of what it is like to walk alongside you, a connection is formed. The relationship is key in counselling and forms the foundation of trust. Feeling understood, heard and accepted, supports you in being able to talk about your feelings without being judged. The process of awareness, motivates self-acceptance and encourages autonomy for your own decision making and empowerment. Through awareness, change is possible and you are the best person to know what is the right decision for you. I will support you through this process. 

The process of change occurs through a safe connection, feeling accepted and being able to be yourself with another person.

You are your own expert of yourself. Trust your gut instinct.

Practice description

  1. Initial contact

  3. Sent a counselling contract for your consent
  4. Arrange a suitable time for you to begin your sessions.

My first session

After your intial introductory call, where you get a sense if I feel the right person for you, and you give your consent to starting counelling, our first session is a time for you to feel comfortable to share your experience. My focus is on offering a confidential, safe space for you to feel listened to, heard and understood.
