About me and my therapy practice
*OUTDOOR (Walking therapy) and ONLINE therapy ONLY*
Walking therapy takes us out of the confines of a counselling room whilst still offering a therapeutic space to explore the difficulties you are facing. Sessions are designed around you and may involve us walking for the whole session or pausing, to sit, stand and interact with the natural environment around us. Walking therapy can take place in all (safe) weathers, subject to your comfort with this, something we will talk more about during our first conversation together.
As a qualified, Trauma-informed, Â鶹Դ´-registered counsellor, I support individual adult clients, both young and old, from a diverse range of backgrounds, working with issues including depression, anxiety, relationships, loss, self-esteem, sexual abuse and trauma.
My passion comes from holding a space in which you are supported to explore what you are struggling with. A space without judgement, which offers safety & confidentiality.
I can support you in many ways including:
• providing a unique space in which you feel truly heard and witnessed
• building a greater awareness and connection with your thoughts, emotions and felt senses
• identifying and developing your inner resourcefulness, including the ability to think reflexively
• creating a tool kit of practical resources that you can draw on in moments of need
• offering a playful space in which you build confidence in your ability to connect with and express parts of yourself which may previously have remained hidden
You will never be asked or expected to share any more than you feel comfortable to, together we will pace our sessions in a way that you continue to feel safe and supported.
You can expect me to listen and to ask you questions for the purpose of understanding how your experiences impact your life. Together we will explore the difficulties you are facing.
Practice description
Online sessions last 50 minutes. My fee is £60 a session.
Outdoor (Walking therapy) - Takes place in the Marlborough area following an initial online session. A ‘usual’ session will last for 60 mins. This may extend up to 15 minutes more, but we will both agree during the session if this is desired or required. My fee is £70 a session.
I work with clients, typically weekly, on both a time-limited and longer-term basis.
As an Integrative counsellor, I draw on a number of counselling theories, but the cornerstone of my practice is Humanistic. This means I value you as an individual, with my role being to support you to find a way forward that feels authentic to you.
We’ll review our work as we go, to ensure it continues to meet your needs.
My first session
I welcome initial contact via email or text and offer a free, without obligation, introductory call of around 20 minutes to allow us both to find out a little more about each other. The counselling relationship is key to the therapeutic process and so this is an opportunity for you to consider if working with me feels like a good fit.
After our call, I’ll send you some information setting out the practical side of things.
In our first session, we will look at your hopes (and any reservations) of counselling so we have a shared understanding of what is important to you at this time.
