Hi, I'm Laura, a Â鶹Դ´ registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering Person-Centred Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS) sessions.
I am a warm, relational, and encouraging therapist and my practice is open-hearted, inclusive, and creative. I appreciate the uniqueness of each person (and their experiences) and embrace a holistic, non-pathologising approach.
Whether you're seeking support during a difficult time or embarking on a journey of self-discovery, I understand that it takes great courage to explore what you're feeling and moving through.
About me and my therapy practice
Person-Centred Therapy
In Person-Centred Therapy sessions, I offer a warm, empathic, and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, experiences, and relationships—with yourself and others. It can be a relief to share long-buried feelings or helpful to have a space to talk that is free of judgement.
You’ll set the pace of our sessions, and we’ll explore what’s coming up for you in the here and now (like feelings, thoughts, dreams, and movement), as well as past experiences. Everyone has a different story and I can give you the opportunity to understand and explore your own path.
I take an intuitive and embodied approach, offering time for reflections with warmth, honesty, and authenticity. I see the therapeutic relationship (between the client and counsellor) as a container for exploring how we relate to others, healing relational wounds, and a space to look at things which might feel too big to look at on our own.
Together, we will work to connect with the resources you already hold within—helping you attune to your self-worth and confidence, manage stress and anxiety, navigate past challenges, build deeper connections, and find wisdom, healing, and growth.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy
IFS Therapy is an expansive and transformative approach that invites you to explore the many layers of your inner world; the parts you have within.
I will work with you to gently uncover and understand your parts, creating space for healing and transformation. Working with your inner world and expanding your sense of self allows you to step into a more authentic, empowered version of who you are.
In this work, I hold a deep respect for the knowledge you hold within and trust that you will know the best pace for you.
This process opens up new possibilities for healing, deeper self-awareness, and richer connections with yourself and others. As you learn to nurture and integrate all parts of yourself, more balance, peace, and growth will emerge in your life.
Practice description
My approach
I hold closely the belief that the world around us shapes our lived experiences. I create space for you to explore the different intersections of your identity and recognise how social systems may impact your well-being. My approach is trauma-informed and queer- and trans-affirmative, always centred in kindness, compassion, and respect.
I am mindful of how trauma can be stored in the body and take a holistic approach. Considering both the body and the mind can be helpful for those whose bodies are a place of anxiety (for those experiencing change, physical illness, or low self-confidence, to name but a few). The body may be the vessel of suffering, but it is also our greatest ally in healing from it.
Ideas from neuroscience, neurolinguistics, existential philosophy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and Jungian concepts (like how we experience our dreams) also weave into my practice. I am deeply fascinated by philosophy, archetypes, mythology, mysticism, spirituality and our connections to land and place.
Training and experience
My path to becoming a therapist started in Bristol, where I studied for a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and gained an understanding of theory, research, and the application of psychological science. I then completed a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy at Keele University, focusing on theory and therapeutic skills, and I graduated with distinction.
As a member of the Â鶹Դ´, I participate in regular supervision, take part in continued training, and work within their ethical framework. I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and have practice insurance.
Drawing from more than 2500 hours of client work, I have experience supporting people navigating life's challenges including anxiety, stress, panic attacks, depression, burnout, loneliness, low self-esteem, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, chronic illness, queer experiences, and spirituality.
My first session
I understand how important it is to feel at ease with your therapist and to be able to build a trusting relationship. For this reason, I offer a free 30-minute initial call where we can connect, talk about what you're looking for, and see whether working together would be a good fit for you.
You are very welcome to contact me on 07983 344 856, by email, or through my website.

About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome,
I'm Laura, a Â鶹Դ´ registered counsellor, psychotherapist, and supervisor.
The supervision I offer is grounded in the humanistic approach. I work in a Person-Centred way and am informed by frameworks like the Seven-Eyed Model and the Integrative Developmental Model of supervision.
I welcome anyone looking for short or long-term supervision. We will work together in a structured way for as long as you need, with regular check-ins to keep us on the right path.
Sometimes, my replies may inadvertently go to your junk or spam folder. If you don't hear from me within 48 hours of reaching out, please check those folders to see if my reply is there!
Practice description
I offer a supervision space where you can thoughtfully explore the experiences and dynamics that emerge within your counselling practice.
I see supervision as an expansive experience that encourages collaboration, support, and growth —a place where you can process, reflect, and gain clarity, feel seen and heard, consider your work, and ensure ethical practices.
The relationship between supervisor and supervisee is individual and ever-evolving. Sessions are shaped by what you bring and the challenges or insights you're experiencing in your practice.
I draw from a variety of approaches (including person-centred and IFS), weaving together my experience to offer holistic (recognises the influence of the body, culture, identity, and environment on personal experiences) and inclusive (respectful of diversity) supervision.
The supervision I offer is formative (supporting growth and development), normative (ensuring adherence to standards and ethical practices), and restorative (providing support and renewal).
My first session
I understand how important it is to be able to build a trusting relationship with a supervisor. For this reason, I offer a free 30-minute initial call where we can connect, talk about what you're looking for, and see whether working together would be a good fit for you.
