About me and my therapy practice
Whether you’re looking for support for yourself, or for someone you care about, I know that finding a counsellor can be a daunting task. When you’re ready, I’m here to help.
Sometimes life can throw unexpected challenges our way, leaving us feeling unprepared and overwhelmed. Whatever problems you're facing, pressing ahead without taking care of your own needs can lead to anxiety, depression and even physical ill health.
Together, we can find ways to reduce the overwhelm, and get a sense of balance, so you can begin to cope with what life throws at you. Counselling provides the opportunity to address your difficulties, these might include anxiety or low self-esteem, trauma, work stress, or dealing with pain and loss.
Practice description
How does it work?
As your counsellor, my role is to listen and understand what it’s like to be you. I’m not here to offer advice or solutions but I will empathise, support and give you the space to make sense of what’s going on, so that you’ll find the confidence to make personal decisions that lead to a positive change. My sessions are led by you so what we talk about will be your choice and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Alongside my private practice, I have experience of working in schools and with the Watford Women’s Centre. I currently work with young people from the age of 12, and adults of all ages.
My main practice is in Hemel Hempstead, but I also offer online or telephone sessions, providing flexibility for anyone who is further away or unable to travel.
My first session
Without any pressure, we can start with a 20 minute informal chat to give you the chance to see how therapy can work for you. This introductory session can be by phone, video call or in person, and is completely free of charge.
Choosing a counsellor that feels right for you is an important step so this first session is an opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns you may have, and to get a sense of whether I am the right person for you.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
