About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Gemma, and I’m grateful that you’ve taken the time to look over my profile. I’m passionate about being a Counsellor and helping my clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves.

Choosing the right Counsellor can feel overwhelming, but I believe that the key to a successful therapeutic experience is the relationship between you and your Counsellor. It is essential that you feel heard and supported in a space that is safe, non-judgmental, and secure.

My video below gives an overview of what I believe are important factors in choosing a Counsellor...

I offer flexibility in how we work together, whether that's face-to-face at my offices in Newcastle under Lyme or Stafford, or online or over the phone.

Practice description

I trained as an integrative therapist, which has given me the flexibility to build my practice in a way that feels true to who I am, shaped by the interactions I have with my clients.

A big part of my practice is creating a space that allows for your own inner exploration. I offer different perspectives to help you see your current situation—or life events, both past and present—in a new light, and empower you to find your way forward.

I’ve worked in a Hospice setting, offering palliative care counselling, anticipatory grief, and bereavement support. This experience has been incredibly valuable and transferable to my work with all clients. It’s about those moments when your current ways of coping or looking at the world just aren’t helping anymore. You might feel lost, overwhelmed, or unsure, struggling to navigate new emotions or uncertainty.

As an ethical and reflective practitioner, I prioritize my own personal growth and ongoing professional development, ensuring I can always offer the best support to my clients.

My first session

Our first meeting will be a free introductory call, which can be over the phone or online. This is a chance for us to chat and for me to learn more about why you're seeking counselling. It's also your opportunity to ask any questions you might have about me or the process.

After that, we’ll move on to our first full counselling session. I’ll send over my client agreement for you to review and return before we meet.
