My first session
Once you have made contact, I will be in touch with you to set up a 15-minute Zoom call.
In my first session, I create a warm, relaxed space where you feel safe to share your story. I begin by explaining confidentiality, what you can expect from our work together, and how my integrative, client-centred approach will help us tailor the process to your unique needs.
I invite you to share your background—what led you to seek counselling, your current challenges, and if you’ve been to therapy before, what worked or didn’t for you in the past.
We discuss how you’re feeling right now, both emotionally and practically, and what you hope to achieve from our sessions.
Together, we set initial goals—whether that’s managing anxiety, developing new coping strategies, or building greater self-understanding—and I outline a tentative plan for our future work.
This session is all about building rapport, validating your experiences, and ensuring that you feel heard and empowered to make meaningful changes at your own pace
