About me and my therapy practice
I am an experienced, empathic counsellor and clinical supervisor based in Westlands, Newcastle-Under Lyme.
Just a short drive from Keele University and Staffordshire University.
I offer a predominantly person-centred approach, which means whatever you choose to bring to counselling, I can be alongside you. I may at times suggest other interventions as appropriate.
You can expect a safe and fully confidential space to explore feelings, emotions and situations.
You can be assured that you are in safe hands;
I have worked in the mental health sector for over 7 years and I am 3 years post qualifying as a counsellor/ psychotherapist from Keele University.
My specialism is supporting neurodivergence and I pride myself on my neuro-affirming practice.
I have experience in bereavement counselling, mental health and domestic issues. I have accreditation from RNIB and awaiting accreditation from Â鶹Դ´ which means that I abide by a robust ethical framework.
I am currently employment as a university counsellor which demonstrates my varied and diverse client base.
My practice is fully inclusive and I welcome all prospective clients warmly.
Practice description
I offer a free introductory call which should take no longer than 20 minutes. This is where we can decide if I am the right therapist for you.
You will be invited to take some time to consider and if you are happy to continue, we can go ahead and book your first session.
I work from my home office in the Westlands or I can visit you at your home providing you have a private, confidential space to talk.
I also offer the convenience of online sessions, I use MS Teams for this.
My first session
In our first session I may invite you to complete a short assessment about how you have been feeling recently- this is not mandatory.
We will also take a few minutes to go over the client/ counsellor agreement which details confidentiality and time boundaries.
After this, the time will be yours to talk about whatever you feel might be useful to explore.
