About me and my therapy practice

People come to counselling and psychotherapy for many different reasons. You may be living with anxiety or depression. You may be feeling overwhelmed by a current situation at work or in a relationship. You may be struggling with persistent and unwanted thoughts, feelings or behaviours. Or you may want more joy and fulfilment out of life and wonder what gets in the way. I'm experienced in working with clients on these and many other issues.

You may find yourself here looking for some support in your life and wondering if therapy can help you. Counselling and psychotherapy offer a secure and confidential environment where you can discuss whatever brings you, express difficult thoughts and feelings, and talk and be heard in a way that can facilitate change. I can support you to come to terms with who you are and what’s happened in your life, so you can become who you want to be.

Practice description

My training is in Integrative Psychotherapy which means I work with Psychodynamic and Humanistic theoretical perspectives.

I believe that achieving meaningful and lasting internal change in therapy can best be achieved when we incorporate and integrate all aspects of our being: emotional, cognitive, physical, relational and spiritual. This is why I am passionate about integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy.

My first session

I feel it’s useful for us to talk before making the decision to work together, so offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss what has brought you to therapy and how I might help.

If we’re both happy to proceed, we’ll agree a time for a one-hour initial assessment where I’ll be asking questions about your past and present circumstances.

We will establish whether time-limited counselling or open-ended psychotherapy would be most suitable for you – in-person or online - and agree on a day and time to meet for our weekly 50-minute sessions.

In person therapy sessions take place in a tranquil consulting room where we will meet every week at the same time for 50 minutes. This will be your space to talk about whatever has been troubling you or causing you anxiety recently or in the past.

Online sessions are available for those who perhaps due busy travel schedules or to ill-health or a need to be in the security of their own homes prefer to work remotely.
