About me and my therapy practice
I am an integrative therapist who offers a safe, non-judgmental and confidential space where you and I can explore together the challenges that you may be experiencing. I worked as a teacher for more than ten years before deciding to train in counselling and psychotherapy. I integrate my years of experience into my therapeutic work. I am also a practising artist and offer the opportunity to use creative media in the process of supporting self expression. I am qualified to work with young people, students and adults over the age of 18.
Practice description
Therapeutic work is best done within an honest and supportive relationship. Talking through your thoughts and feelings in a confidential space can open up new ways of understanding yourself. It takes courage and may feel daunting to take the first step to start counselling and I will be there to offer support throughout our journey together.
My theoretical approach is strongly influenced by gestalt theory and practice while integrating this within a broadly humanistic framework. I also include elements of CBT and psychodynamic theories. I have experience in working with anxiety, stress, childhood related difficulties, trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, work related difficulties, eating disorders, OCD, loss, grief and bereavement. I am sensitive to cultural differences and welcome clients from all backgrounds.
Thank you for reading my profile and I hope you will contact me for an initial meeting.
