Availability

I work Monday to Friday normal working hours, evenings and weekends when required.

I recognise that for some, counselling can feel challenging to fit in with the busyness of life and I aim to be as flexible as possible for my clients. Feel free to get in touch and we can arrange a day/time that works best for you.

I currently work part-time with NHS counselling referrals with a counselling service/agency.

I can facilitate home visits and this would have to meet safeguarding requirements.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a passionate Person Centred Experiential (PCE) Psychotherapist and Counsellor. I work face to face, online and over the phone - whatever works best for the client.

I recognise how navigating through life can be challenging, from experiences such as feeling 'stuck' or 'hopeless', relationship issues, financial pressures, health concerns etc. As a PCE therapist, I provide non judgement, confidentiality and an abundance of empathic warmth. This assists in someone sharing and exploring their feelings and experiences.

I was once someone who struggled to trust, and therefore lived through the painful path which can come through not allowing yourself to be vulnerable and confide in others. Eventually I went to therapy myself 20+ years ago and I thrived through the process of opening up and developing a deeper understanding of myself and my own needs. It was then I fostered the goal of being that trusted person for others.

In 2007 I went on to achieve my first counselling qualifications and I have worked in a supportive role since. I later embarked on a degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy because I wanted to learn more and develop myself as an individual, enabling me to help others more. I qualified with First Class Honours and the experience profoundly deepened my own self awareness as well as my passion for PCE therapy. Being person-centred is not only my chosen method of counselling, it has developed into my way of being and become part of who I am.

I also have experience working as an external tutor at Edge Hill University, marking the work/counselling skills videos of the degree students.

Practice description

My work with my clients is collaborative, I work in the moment, alongside a client with their feelings. I also recognise the importance of going at the client’s pace. The experiential side of my knowledge/qualification means I have a deep understanding of emotions.

I provide an inclusive space and work with individuals from all backgrounds. I have extensive experience of working with neurodivergent clients, including Autistic, ADHD, AuDHD etc.

I regularly attend training to ensure I am up to date and developing my learning/knowledge consistently. I create opportunities for personal development for myself and others, e.g., I facilitate encounter groups, attend PD courses/groups.

I've also have extensive experience working in colleges and schools, providing emotional 1:1 support.

I work within the Â鶹ԭ´´ ethical guidelines, including having regular supervision which supports me in supporting others.

My first session

I recognise the importance of the client feeling connected with the therapist and therefore I offer a free 20 minute initial consultation to ensure it feels like the right fit for you. The initial consultation can be either in person, online or over the phone.

My sessions are 1 hour long.

Some clients like to book a set of sessions or we can work week by week, whatever is your preference. We can review the sessions as our time together unfolds to ensure you are gaining what you feel you need from the therapy.

I can offer concessionary fees - feel free to get in touch to discuss further.
