About me and my therapy practice

I am qualified, experienced psychotherapist and trauma-informed yoga teacher who has been supporting people with self-development and improving wellbeing for over 20 years. I work with adults, young people and couples through in-person sessions at my practice based in Nottingham (NG7) and telephone/online sessions worldwide.

I specialise in working with the mind-body connection, drawing from both Eastern wisdom and contemporary research to support insight, healing and growth. I aim to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, the difficulties you’re facing, and how you can move forward with your life in the way that is right for you.

My therapeutic approach is both relational and integrative - a safe, trusting relationship is central to successful therapy, however what you might need from the relationship at any given time can vary. Collaboration is key, as is moving at a pace that is right for you.

I have worked extensively with people experiencing addiction, burnout, complex trauma, relationship difficulties, Functional Neurological Disorder, and other (physical and mental) health concerns. I have also supported people through grief, loss, and life transitions including divorce, becoming a parent and retirement.

Practice description

Whilst it is important to consider my qualifications, experience and approach, having a sense of who I am as a person can also help you decide if I might be the right therapist for you. My professional practice is underpinned by person-centred and feminist values meaning I respect and promote individuality and personal power whilst acknowledging ways that modern living, systems, and social injustice can restrict and distress us. Authenticity, integrity, and compassion are core values meaning that you can expect me to be honest, open, and genuinely interested in you.

I believe that developing self-awareness and compassion are instrumental in supporting healing and growth, and whilst we are all capable of change, I have learned that sometimes it can only occur through a safe and caring relationship. If you would like to hear more or want to take the next step towards finding out if I can help, then please reach out and book a free 15 min consultation.

My first session

Expanding form the initial consultation, in our first session we will take some time to explore what brought you to therapy and what you would like to get from it, for example, you might choose to focus on having space to talk things through, or to explore strategies/techniques that can support you. These are offered on an invitational rather than a prescriptive basis.
