About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Jacqueline, an Integrative Therapist trauma-informed practitioner and accredited with the RNIB as a counsellor. I am based in the heart of the City of London. My own life experiences have deeply shaped my path to becoming a therapist, instilling in me an appreciation for resilience, connection, and the power of self-compassion.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working in the creative industries. I then lived and worked in South Asia in the Himalayas, and later working with in the voluntary sector as a trainer, coach and manager. These chapters of my life introduced me to diverse cultures, perspectives, and communities, broadening my understanding of the world and the unique stories that shape each of us, highlighting the ways our environments influence who we are and the importance of creating safe, nurturing spaces where we can feel truly seen and heard.

A late diagnosis of dyslexia has clarified so much for me, enhancing my empathy for others who navigate life with neurodivergence.

As a single parent, I’ve navigated the joys, challenges, and transformative moments that come with raising a child. This journey has been a wellspring of empathy and insight, enriching the way I support my clients. Clients often share that they feel truly understood and supported when working with me—a foundation that underpins all aspects of my practice.

A space for everyone

Inclusivity is at the heart of my work. I strive to create a space where you can bring your full, authentic self without fear or judgment. I am committed to continually deepening my understanding of the unique challenges faced by underrepresented and marginalised communities. Everyone deserves to feel valued and supported.

As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Â鶹ԭ´´), I adhere to its ethical framework. Ensuring a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, respect, and genuine care.

Practice description

I work relationally which means I believe the relationship we form as client and therapist is extremely important. Working together, we can try to understand and resolve your challenges in a safe and judgement-free space where you will be respected and valued.

I can help you to explore the impact some of your earliest relationships may have had on your life and your relationships with others. I aim to support you with warmth and empathy and believe that everyone is capable of change and growth.

I understand how important it is to have feelings of self-acceptance and self-worth, and how shame and other difficult experiences can rob us of these qualities. I can offer you support around these issues and other events and relationships which may have hurt you in the past or that you are currently struggling with.

My first session

Your First Counselling Session

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and finding the right counsellor is important. That’s why I offer a welcoming and supportive first session where we can explore your reasons for seeking counselling and how we might work together. We will also agree on a counselling contract.

During this session, we will discuss your concerns, expectations, and goals for therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of my approach as an integrative counsellor. My aim is to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you feel heard and supported.

I will also carry out a brief assessment to better understand your needs and tailor our work accordingly.

Whether you're new to counselling or have had therapy before, I’m here to support you at your own pace.

If you have any questions or specific preferences for your first session, please feel free to reach out.

I look forward to meeting you.
