About me and my therapy practice
My name is Charlotte and I am a qualified Person-Centered therapist from a dual-heritage and working-class background. I will be with you as you explore whatever is important to you in a non-judgmental, safe and empathic space. I work from a beautiful and peaceful location surrounded by nature, or alternatively I can offer online or telephone sessions.
I work from a non-pathologising and trauma-informed perspective, meaning our therapeutic work together would be exploring ‘what happened to you?’ rather than ‘what is wrong with you?’. I believe that our lived experiences shape our mental health, and that together we can safely work through this with patience, understanding, and validation.
Practice description
I have over 7 years of experience working with adults and children aged 11+. I have particular interest in working with clients around complex family dynamics, complex childhood experiences, and estrangement. I am also an LGBTQIA+ & neurodivergence-friendly practitioner and person.
Therapy is about a relationship created between myself and my client that is empowering, accepting, safe, and confidential; within the safety of this relationship clients are able to bring any aspect of their lives to examine and process. It is my hope and goal that sessions help clients to find more peace, acceptance, and contentment in their lives.
Please feel free to send me an email or WhatsApp message if you would like to ask anything - I look forward to hearing from you.
My first session
I offer a free introductory call of up to 20 minutes as a chance to get to know one another before deciding whether we would like to proceed.
I will then send you a contract form to fill out before our first session.
Our first session will be a time to become more acquainted with one another and discuss any important questions or boundaries either of us may have. Some people choose to use this time to discuss their history; others prefer to explore how they’re feeling in that particular moment, day, or week. However you’d like to use our first session, we can work together to set a solid foundation for our future sessions.
