About me and my therapy practice

In person and online integrative counselling is available to support you with a wide range of problems. We will work together to build a warm, safe and confidential space for you to address your present concerns.

I am a registered member of Â鶹ԭ´´ and follow their procedures regarding supervision, professional development and an ethical frame work to ensure safety and welfare are embedded in my practise.

Through private practice and working in charitable organisations I have experience of working with a wide range of presentations, including and not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, family separation, grief, loss, bullying, refugee status, the impact of the menstrual cycle on mental health, agoraphobia, work stress, self-harm and low self-esteem, including that stemming from the impact of social media and online platforms.

​Walking therapy, or a combination with room or online based counselling, is available as this can feel less confrontational for some alongside the many benefits that being outside and moving bring.

Lifestyle Medicine support is available in counselling sessions so you can be supported to have a better sense of overall wellbeing. Please see my website for further details about this.

Practice description

I work with both adults, young people and children from the age of four.

For adults alongside talking therapy I offer CBT for insomnia. This is a short term structured programme which can be used to combat short term and chronic insomnia.

In addition to this I am trained in Progressive Muscle Relaxation which is useful for individuals who hold a lot of tension in their body, those experiencing stress and anxiety, insomnia, and certain types of chronic pain and migraines, to relieve symptoms. Once taught this can be practiced at home to provide long-lasting benefits and can easily be slotted into your daily routine.

Children and young people may need additional support for a variety of reasons at different times in their from school or exam based anxiety, bullying, exploring their sexuality, struggling as a result of ASF or ADHD to navigate the neurotypical world, to a change in family dynamics and moving house.​

Individual parental consultations are available whether or not your child is being seen for therapy to support you with life at home.

​In person therapy is recommended for 3-14 year olds however video or telephone appointments are available for those 14+ where appropriate.

​Play Therapy is a particularly beneficial way of working for primary aged clients who may struggle to verbally articulate their feelings and inner world. ​Art Therapy and talking therapy are available with older clients to support them with any mental health challenges and foster a sense of empowerment and growing confidence. 

My first session

The first session will be an assessment one so we can both gauge whether this is the right style of therapy for you as it's important you feel safe and comfortable with the therapist you choose to work with. 

Sessions after this are for 50 minutes and are weekly.
