About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome to my page. As an integrative counsellor, I am dedicated to help you explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive space. I believe everyone has the ability to overcome challenges in life, and sometimes we just need the right conditions to help us identify how.
I'm passionate about helping you build confidence, manage stress or low mood and learn healthy ways to cope. My focus is not to only help identify the tools in the here and now but also the ability to understand the root cause of why your concerns may have manifested in the first place.
Now, you might be wondering, "How does that work?" Well, I'm trained in a few different ways of understanding how people think and feel. Having different tools in my toolbox means I am able to work collaboratively with you to understand what theoretical approaches may support you. I use the following approaches:
Person-Centred: Will allow us to work collaboratively in a space where you feel accepted so you are able to speak freely, leading to change.
Psychodynamic: We may reflect on how your past experiences may be unconsciously impacting your choices in the here and now.
Existential: We might also explore big questions about life, choice and responsibility. Through doing so we will work out what is important to you and how you feel you belong in this world.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy): Through this approach, we may look at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are connected. We can work on changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours linked to proactively meeting your goals.I'm here to listen without judgment and help you develop tools to navigate your emotions and build a happier, healthier you. We can work together to explore your strengths, develop new skills, and provide a space to explore who you are. No matter what you're going through, you don't have to go through it alone.
Practice description
My experience encompasses several years of work with adolescents and young adults in diverse environments, including schools and charitable organisations demonstrating my ability to adapt to diverse client needs.
I want our time together to be a safe place where you can be totally yourself. That means I care about all the things that make you. Whether you're figuring out your gender, your sexuality, or how your culture plays a part in all of that, I'm here to listen without any judgment. I want to create a space where you feel seen and understood, so we can explore how you want to live your life. It's important to me that you feel comfortable and safe to explore those parts of yourself. We can work together to help you move to feeling more authentically you and build your confidence.
I work exclusively online via zoom. Engaging in online therapy offers several advantages, for example, you'll benefit from the convenience of accessing sessions from a location that feels comfortable and safe for you, eliminating travel time and increasing flexibility in scheduling.

My first session
After getting in contact, I offer a free initial 10-minute telephone or online session to see if I am the right fit for you.
After we've agreed to work together, we'll have our first meeting! In this 1hr meeting, I'll ask you some standard questions so I can really understand what's been happening for you and how we can best work together. We'll take things at your own speed, and make sure you feel comfortable and safe throughout this process.
Following our first meeting, we will agree to sessions at the same time weekly. We will usually start with a block of six sessions and then review, however this can be modified to meet your needs.
