About me and my therapy practice
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, trained in both psychodynamic and humanistic psychotherapy. I have completed a Masters and Post-Graduate Certificate in Integrative psychotherapy at Regents University London. I am a registered member of the Â鶹Դ´ and accredited by the UKCP.
Using an integrative way of working allows me to approach your problems drawing from a range of modalities which best suit your unique needs.
Beyond private practice, I have also worked in the UK's leading private mental health hospital, providing therapy to a range of individuals, many of whom were in crisis with complex needs.
Practice description
You might be finding life challenging right now, perhaps you are feeling stuck, lost, anxious or low, or you are experiencing moods which feel unpredictable. You may be experiencing problems in your relationships, work or feeling distress after a traumatic event.
Therapy can be a helpful space to work on these challenges and to make steps towards becoming more present and engaged in your life.
I will provide a safe and non-judgemental space to collaboratively explore and understand your problems. The space is non-directive, I am not here to tell you what to do, but instead to work together to find the right way forward for you. It is important for you to bring whatever feels most important to you, whether that be something you are struggling with right now, or something that has been distressing you from the past. We can then weave together an understanding of how you have come to be in your current position, and think about how to move forward with a new perspective. Therapy can often be working on the edge of what feels comfortable, which is why I feel it is important to have a strong therapeutic relationship as a base for this exploration. We will explore your current problems as you see them, and work together to develop a deeper and new understanding of yourself, which can bring about different ways of being.
I believe the past impacts how we are in the present, and part of the therapy may be exploring past relationships/experiences. By following the thread back, we can start to gain insight on how you have made sense of the world based on your early experiences. This view of your world/relationships/self may clash with your environment, and may be causing some problems in your life now.
Using a holistic approach we will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to build a deeper insight into your experience. The awareness gained through this process can allow you to connect and engage in life with more freedom and authenticity and to make positive change
