About me and my therapy practice
You may have now reached a crossroads in life or are seeking a new direction. You may be experiencing relationship problems or navigating a change in circumstances that are difficult to manage emotionally or you would like to learn more about your sense of self or to have greater self awareness.
Taking the first step can sometimes feel quite daunting as life can be a challenge at times, feel a bit overwhelming or confusing. Whatever has brought you to counselling I would like to welcome you.
I will provide a confidential warm & compassionate therapeutic space to allow you the opportunity to explore the issues that are troubling you. Together we can increase your self awareness and work towards effecting positive changes and contentment in your life.
I have regularly worked with issues around health, relationships and relationship problems, emotional difficulties, stress and anxiety, depression, behavioural problems, trauma and childhood trauma, loss and bereavement, self esteem and workplace stress. I also work with individuals who are childless not by choice or by circumstance as this an area of specific interest for me.
Counselling is a safe place for you to talk openly about what is troubling you and the subsequent emotions and feelings in order that you feel both seen and heard. Counselling also enables you to speak freely without judgement and to be heard with empathy and compassion.
We may agree some goals at the beginning and this will be regularly reviewed to ensure we are on the right path.
The therapeutic relationship is so important to the success of therapy and therefore I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation to discuss what you are looking for and to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease to work with me.
If you would like to enquire about having a counselling session with me, please do get in touch. I currently only offer sessions online via Zoom or by telephone but find these ways of working are usually just as effective as working in-person.
Practice description
Therapy is a collaborative process and I am able to draw upon many different approaches as a qualified integrative counsellor to tailor it to your needs.
I offer space for us to work together, to explore your thoughts without judgement and provide you with a greater understanding of yourself giving clarity to move forward.
I have gained a lot of experience working with Clarity, a local mental health charity in North Devon and I have previously worked for the NHS.
I have a range of experience through private practice and my previous voluntary work as a counsellor at Clarity.
I work with adults of 18 years and above and can work in groups and 1:1 and offer short and long term therapy to suit your needs.
